  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Shalom all,

A number of years ago I put together a study on tithing and it being Biblical or not. Someone on this forum was suggested to contact me and I was asked to post my thoughts on it. I'm posting a document, if I can get it to work, that's a pdf file. It's 31 pages and very extensive. The bulk of the work was done by a gentleman in Australia named George Potkonyak. I was running a Messianic Congregation at the time and encountered his study. I found an amazing amount of truth in it.

A couple of years ago at a Sukkot retreat I gave a lecture on it. The lecture took me an hour and a half, I didn't get totally through the information and people were not only amazed, but were asking for more.

Hope it's a blessing to you,
Be Well,
Mikha'el

edited: I cannot upload the pdf file because I don't have enough posts. I've asked a fellow poster to do so for me.

Hello All:

I tried to pull up the attachment on my email this morning, and my computer wouldn't even recognize that it existed.

Anyway, Yafet you might have an idea as to why it did not, the file was labeled winmail.dat file. If there is a way to turn it into a .doc or something, then please let me know.

Thanks,

Nathan

Yes ST you did bring it up:

Anyway, he has written a rather large article on "tithing" in the Tenach, what it meant, how we are to continue in this practice, etc.

I think we all would benefit from it. I'll try to contact him and see if he can email to me.

uhhh... no, I wasn't referring to the topic at hand, but instead I was referring to his comment here:
No Simchat, But I'll email it to you if you'd do it. The one you told to contact me is whom I asked.

I don't know where he got muffler dragon as the one who I told him to contact... that's what I was referring to. I believe I have always turned people towards Justin (or another moderator if he's unavailable).

Yafet,
Let's see if I can explain all this. It's obviously gotten confusing.

Muffler contacted me asking who your friend was that did the study on tithing. You told him it was me and it's my understanding that you told him to contact me about getting the article that I have from me. In his email to me he asked if I can send it to him or just post a thread on it. I sent him the article, told him I was going to try to upload the file and start a thread.

I started the thread, I couldn't get it loaded. I asked him, since I emailed him the file and he has more than 100 posts, to post it up since I couldn't. Then you made your comments and I said that I'd send you the pdf as well in case you can post it up.

That's it. This has nothing to do with moderators. It has solely to do with the article I was working from a couple of years ago, his desire to have it's information and me trying to post it. It's way too long to put on the forum. I've been working on a shortened edition that I am writing solely from notes I've taken. It's probably a long way from being completed.

Is it still as clear as mud?

Hello all,

I've started a new thread on Tithing as this one got a little crazy. I actually went through my old note book, took out my outline and re-typed a new article. You can find the new thread here:

Enjoy,
