If that were the case, you might have something there. But as multiple people have pointed out, most of these countries simply do not have tariffs anything like the ones on Trump's poster board. because it's not a reality, it's lies and incompetency, take the milk thing trump was complaining about, it's a potential tarrif that was never actually reached, because the US never sold enough milk, or this tariffs refer to the deficit. plus there is on no planet that this works, thats not how things work.I don't have any idea if any of this will work. He did campaign on it, and I have ZERO problems with a tit for tat tarrif. Some countries out heavy tarrifs on out goods or at least some of them. Europe and Canada have some big time tarrifs.

I don't know. I'm willing to wait and see what happens. The real issue is the economy. And if this all fails and the economy goes in the tank then there will be a large price to pay. Right now, Trump is on the razors edge.

They use them to protect key industries, like the much-ballyhooed Canadian dairy tariffs, which are only in effect if the US exports are more than a trade agreement determined limit, and they never are.
