well, i dont think any of it is right. it's gotten the PAST wrong. :sigh:

malarky.

but that's just me. ;)
funny. i suppose i have a serious question tho....since dispensationalism / end-times / rapture is a decidedly non-catholic theology i'm rather confused by it all. (i know there is an eschatology forum, but p/r/e is normally friendlier to my ilk).

in many instances when hearing my prostestant brethren talk every now and again there is a quesiton of whether you are "pre/mid/post". i know that john darby really kicked off the whole business back in the early 19th century (dispensationalism) but is the whole "tribulation" now an article of faith for the entire (world) protestant community or is it mainly an american protestant thing?

are there denominations that fully accept the idea, some that have a more "wait and see" approach, and those that reject it?

Opus,
I'm with you on this one. I consider myself to be a "pre-mid-post" tribulation advocate!...:D
Meaning...I don't have a clue. I believe that the bible definately teaches that there will be an end. In the words of a great song, "i just wanna be found ready".
Grace and Peace to you today,
Asaph

Correct exegisis is fundemental, and of course correct theology is to when trying to understand all this stuff. (come to think of it a correct view of scripture is fundemantal to all christian belief!)
I digress--The question is what are you looking for?
I'm looking for Jesus he's coming back for me, thats next on my time line!
I'm pre-millenial, dispensational , pre-trib (as per the bible;-), yes there are denominations that fully accept the idea, namely the Plymouth Brethren and all who take the scriptures as seriously as Draby did. Oh.. and it's not an American thing, Darby was an ex-Irish Anglican, and the 'Brethren' flourished in mainly England.

First don't confuse Dispensationalism of which there are two positions, dispensationali/non-dispensationalist with...
Millenialism that has three positions, pre/post/amillenialism with...
Tribulation rapture with its three positions, pre/mid/post

most of the these positions can be esaily debunked that narrows the debate into some serious theology between a few key positions. I'll leave the deabte to you, but as I see it from the scriptures; next... Jesus comes for his bride the church at the end of the church dispenastion (2000 years), that is at the start (pre) of the tribulation that last for 7 years before (pre) the millenium.

All of this is rocket science in most apostate church circles, but hey, watch that space (the raptured gap in your pew)... the early church understood and believed this straight as Paul taught it as orthodox doctrine.

The real question is: are you ready today to meet your God?
