Daniel saw in a vision the four winds/spirits of heaven stirring up the Great Sea, (Mediterranean). Then four great beasts arose, one at a time. The last beast trampled the first three till eventually it was destroyed by God. The other beasts were given an extension of life.​

God gives the interpretation of the dream. The four beasts are four kingdoms or Federations that come up one at a time and have power and authority at the same time. They are all in the same time-slot when God would deal with the Gentile system of government.​

`The fourth beast shall be a fourth kingdom on earth which shall be different from all other kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth.` (Dan.7: 23)​

The Four Beasts Vision. (Daniel 7)



CONTEMPORARY – These kingdoms were yet to arise in Daniel`s time. (Dan.7:17)

EACH POWERFUL – They are all powerful rulers. (Dan. 7:3)

ALL AT THE SAME TIME – These powers are all operating at the same time. (Dan. 7: 7 & 12)

When we look at the Federations that have great power and authority in our world today, and then look at the emblems they are well known for, we can see who each of these `beasts` represent.

1. A Lion with Eagle`s wings - Great Britain & America. Great Britain was the first great power to arise in contemporary times. America came from there and `broke off` and became independent.

2.A ferocious Bear with 3 ribs in its mouth - Russia. Russia came from the Soviet Union, which was the second great power to arise, after WW1. It devoured country after country into a great Federation.

3.A winged Leopard with four heads - The European Union. This Union began after WW2 with 4 leaders/heads of countries.

4.A terrifying beast - Islam. This great power has yet to come to its full potential.

Daniel portrays 4 empires that appear in succession--not all at the same time. They may coexist as kingdoms, but not as empires. An empire contains a number of kingdoms enabling it to dominate an entire region. One cannot have more than a single empire in the same general vicinity.

History records the 1st Kingdom in Daniel's time was Babylon, followed by a joint power, Medo-Persia. Then came Greece with its 4 successors in Hellenistic rule. And finally, Rome conquered the entire region with greater might than the 3 previous powers.

What is significant about this is the fact that the last empire, Rome, is the one that crucified Christ and killed many of his apostles and followers. It is also the nation which received the Kingdom of God after Israel lost it. Rome became the next great home of God's People, the Holy Roman Empire.

Finally, Rome extends, like legs (Dan 2), in bilateral form, Eastern Roman Empire and Western Roman Empire, to form modern Europe in Eastern and Western sections. The Eastern section is largely populated by Slavic peoples, and the Western section is largely populated by Germanic peoples.

This is all true to form and in accordance with how Daniel portrayed it in Dan 2 and 7. The Christianization of the heir to the Holy Roman Empire, Christian Europe, will also be the place where Antichrist is spawned. Where best to spawn satanic attack on Christianity than in the home of Christianity in the world, ie Europe?

What I find particularly interesting is that some of the faces of these 4 beasts is seen in Ezekiel's cherubim, including the lion and the eagle. I think these cherubim refer to angels that oppose Babylon (Dan 7.4). The bear and the leopard are missing, and an ox and the face of a man are added. I'm not sure why? The leopard reappears in association with the Antichristian Empire in Rev 13.2.

In Rev 4 we see the cherubim with lion, ox, man, and eagle. I have a hard time identifying these angels and their purpose, but it is obviously to counter the impact of these worldly empires that appear in history. I'm really praying to understand the significance of these angels, as they help us to counter Satan's attack upon God's People in this world.

I will add this: I think the "bear" is ancient Persia, which as a pagan empire was represented by a wild animal. However, in the book of Revelation we have an "ox" evidencing a domestic animal, perhaps indicating the Christianization of Europe and the world. The face of a "man" represents Christ, both before his coming and after his earthly appearance.

Certainly, many of the players you mention do fit in the prophetic scenario. Which symbols refer to which I'm not so sure about, either your view or mine? We'll keep asking God to help... Thanks!

Daniel 7:4. Eagle wings are protection from God.
7:5 . This is Esua, which is Russia.
7:6. The leopard is the kenites. They are children of the devil. Cain is seed of the devil.
7:7 . New world order. This is revelation chapter 17. Satan as antichrist and fallen angels. It's one world religious system.
Revelation chapter 9:5, it's 5 month period.
7:8 . Little horn. This is son of perdition of second thessalonians chapter 2. This is satan in his role as antichrist.

Daniel chapter 7:4 to 7:,7 aligns with revelation chapter 17.

Those banking on the rapture, will worship antichrist near future and have spot in hell. Documentation, psalm chapter 9 .

However, Marilyn, Hitler named his empire the "3rd Reich" for a reason. The Byzantine Empire in the East perpetuated the "Roman Empire" in the form of the continuation of the Eastern Roman Empire. When Rome fell in 457 AD, Rome was resurrected in the Holy Roman Empire.

It is only relatively recently in history that the remnant of this Empire went away, namely the Austrian Empire, and its successor, the Austria-Hungary Empire. The Russian Empire, with its successor, the Soviet Union, continued the tradition of empire in the East. Putin is trying to revive the imperial tradition in Europe, but I don't know if he will succeed?

Something to keep in mind. The breakup of imperialism in traditional Roman territory, or Europe, is precisely what Daniel anticipated.

In a military conflict, the EU would decimate Islam.

The 4th Beast of Dan 7 has the capacity for terror, and trampled nations down when it initially became a great empire. The heir to this bi-partite imperial power is equally capable of terror, even if it is not still terrorizing other countries in the same way. It has spawned the greatest colonial aggression the world has ever known, and it has created 2 world wars. And it isn't finished, if I'm right that it will become the seat of the Antichrist, who will then dominate the world.
