It’s time for the impeachment of Barack Obama

Posted by The Right Scoop on Feb 3, 2011 in Politics | 100 Comments

I am fit to be tied today. Hotair reported earlier today that the Obama administration has been held in contempt for disobeying a federal ruling that they must discontinue the oil drilling moratorium they had issued last year:
The Obama Administration acted in contempt by continuing its deepwater drilling moratorium after the policy was struck down, a New Orleans judge ruled.

Interior Department regulators acted with “determined disregard” by lifting and reinstituting a series of policy changes that restricted offshore drilling, following the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history, U.S. District Judge, Martin Feldman of New Orleans ruled yesterday.

“Each step the government took following the court’s imposition of a preliminary injunction showcases its defiance,” Feldman said in the ruling.

“Such dismissive conduct, viewed in tandem with the re- imposition of a second blanket and substantively identical moratorium, and in light of the national importance of this case, provide this court with clear and convincing evidence of the government’s contempt,” Feldman said.
This topic of contempt has been discussed quite a bit lately in reference to the federal court’s ruling that ObamaCare was unconstitutional. As of yesterday Levin noted that no appeal had been filed to stay the motion of this declaratory judgment, and they’ve stated publicly that they intend to continue to implement ObamaCare. If nothing else this shows that they are either ignorant of the law or ready to disregard it. Given today’s ruling of contempt, one could make an argument that they intend to disregard it.

Some on the right are really starting to sound like the cry babies from the left when Bush was in office. They chided everyone for suggesting Bush should be impeached, yet now they champion the exact same thing.

Obama hasn't done anything to warrant impeachment. Get over it and stop whining - there's plenty of things to legitimately criticize Obama over. Screaming about such drivel as this just reenforces to notion that many from the right are just anti-Obama and not much else.

Not really, and the reason is because Obama has knowingly violated the Constitution, and Bush never did anything wrong. The Left hated Bush just for hate's sake. We want Obama out becase he violates the Constitution at every turn, and if he is all as smart as you guys think he is then he is doing it with full knowledge of what he is doing.

Well, let's see...Bush used funds that were appropriated for other uses for building up air fields, etc., to prepare for the Iraq invasion without notifying Congress he was switching the money around; he ordered the wiretapping and spying on of American citizens without going through the courts; prisoners were stripped of their habeas corpus rights, denied attorney/client privilege and tortured; he curtailed the rights of Freedom of Speech by putting non-violent protesters into "Free Speech Zones" sometimes miles away from where he was speaking; he issued his own warrants for arrest instead of going through the courts...and those are just what I can think of off the top of my head. The guy used the Constitution as toilet paper.

Impeachment is a waste of time, why not just wait two years and vote him out of office?

Because the Right thinks that their goal of completely running America into the ground (so that they can be the big heroes by "rescuing it") will be better accomplished with President Biden in charge for a couple of years.

That's some irony you got going there.

That is incredibly, um, bereft of truth. I think that truly qualifies as ODS.

Bawahahaha!!!

Your blind partisanship is showing. Especially regarding the bolded part, some on your side just hate Obama simply for the sake of hating him.

What has that got to do with anything? That smells of anti-Catholicism.

Let's not jump to conclusions -- he might just be in the "President Biden" t-shirt business.

Not at all. That was not my intention. Catholics are cool people.
It is kind of weird. I have been accused of being antisemitic and anti-Islamic recently to. I need to think about how I phrase my questions.

from article said:
It’s time to remove this authoritarian from office and put someone in his place that has respect for the law.
since if President Obama is removed Joe Biden would be his replacement.

Which is kind of funny since Biden would most likely do three things the day he became president via impeachment --
  1. A full pardon for Obama
  2. An executive order stating that every executive action passed by former president Obama was still valid and in effect, and
  3. Picking up Obama's "evilcommiesocialistmuslim" policies right where Obama left off.
Not really much of an accomplishment -- unless you're doing it out of a personal grudge against Obama.

And what personal problem could the Birther Right possibly have against him?

Oh, I'm sure WND and Herbie could come up with some elaborate storyline that it was secretly Obama's plot all along to get impeached because he just knew he was about to get found out for not being a Real™ American citizen. Or some other story like that. I think some of these people are so obsessed that they'll forever speak of Obama and his birth certificate.
