As some many other people do, the new year brings about a time to think through the year prior.

1) What is the one thing you learned in 2005, that will or has caused you to change something about yourself, either already or for 2006?

2) What is the one happiest event in your 2005?

1) For me, 2005 was filled with major change and a boat load of learning. Being that I'm such a new christian, the learning curve was way skewed! :) The biggest thing I've learned was how much I focused on the things that I wanted in my life, verses the things that I actually need and what it is He wants for my life. What I've been working on changing is keeping my focus on what is important, Him, fully and completely.

2) The happiest event in my life would be my wedding! I've been down this road twice before, and this is the first time God has been involved and the difference is mind blowing! What a joy it is to have both a wonderful wife and a wonderful Lord!

I hope that this finds all my brothers and sisters doing well!

1) I learned that no matter what only I can make the decision as to whether I will succeed or not in my classes. I hold the key to having a successful academic career. While others have a large role in encouraging me and guiding me, ultimately I have to want to do well, otherwise I will fail.

2) Knowing that I have turned in papers on time. This is something that I did not do Spring semester last year. Thankfully, through many hard lessons.. and a particular professor telling me to get off my rear end and work, I have been able to do my best this semester. Though I may not have the best grades I am happy to say that I have tried hard and have reaped the benefits.

1. Seeing my church and town filled with Hurricane Katrina taught me that the worldly security we think we have is so tenuous. I hope it helps me continue to accumulate less stuff and give more.

2. Can't give one event because it's anytime I'm at my parents with my nieces and nephew: Anna Claire (29 mo old who lives 3 hrs away), Wheeler (24 mo old nephew) and Laura Drew (12 mo old niece) ...both and hour and a half away.

1) To let the spirit guide me instead of me trying to pull the spirit in the direction I want to go.

2) No single event comes to mind so I would just say any number of church events this year that allowed us to share in fellowship with others.

#1. That continuing to gripe at lazy students does really pay off!

#2. That Onesimus85 honestly posted his #1 and #2!

(edit: inside humor....sorry)
