This says a whole lot more about *HIM* than it does about the economy, Trump, Social Security, or his supposedly "working-class roots".
What kind of son (especially if he's got all that money behind him) allows his own elderly mother to possibly go hungry every month because she has to wait for a Social Security check? Why wouldn't he help her out, help buy her food, help pay her bills?
He's trying to connect with everyday Americans by saying he understands how hard things are---but him being who he is and what he's got, this story doesn't engender commonality between him and the everyday American; it just makes him look like a disgusting creep.
