I love sports, but that is part of the downside to it. Very few players are truly revered by fans even if they put their heart and soul into their jobs.

Tebow is not a great QB and will probably never be a great QB, but nobody likes to put a lot of effort into something only to have your efforts discounted.

Tim Tebow did exceptionally well in an offensive scheme (in Denver) that was modeled for a right-handed pocket passer. While he didn't deliver a Super Bowl for Denver, he hasn't really been given a fair chance to demonstrate his skill set either. Taking over from the backup QB position, he accomplished more than many others would in the same position.

If Tebow were established at the beginning of the season as a starting QB and the offensive was built around him and his playing style, we would have a better idea of how good he really is. It's best to remember that most of the great QB's (Marino, Elway, P. Manning, Montana, etc) didn't exactly produce undefeated seasons as soon as they started playing, and Manning is now showing that in a different offense (Denver) he isn't as impressive as he was with the Colts offense that was pieced together to maximize his abilities.
