Tiller was a hero who put his life on the line to save women's lives. He was gunned down by a cowardly assassin who was aided and abetted by members of antiabortion groups which supposedly operate legally but were in this matter engaged in conspiracy.

What's with the inflammatory language?

Do you have any evidence of that whatsoever or is that pure conjecture aimed as attacking people you disagree with?

What I find rather odd about this is that Tiller performed a very rare type of abortion (late-term abortions account for less than 1% of all abortions) under fairly extraordinary circumstances (where at least two doctors agreed that the abortion was necessary to protect the mother's health).

I can understand being against casual and medically unnecessary abortions, but do people really believe that women are required to die if a pregnancy threatens their life?

In any case, why so much focus on such an unusual medical procedure?

Actually, I think Anderson Cooper indicated that some 80% of these abortions were not necessary for the health of the mother. Which is interesting, because most later terms abortions have side effects similar to actually giving birth to child, possibly worse, but I haven't seen statistics indicating worse.

Can you imagine if God had the same lack of mercy that the OP has? He would not have bothered to come into the world in Jesus Christ, to save us. No, he would've just send us all, to eternal damnation.

But God is a merciful God, full of compassion and forgiveness. We should do as Jesus taught, be holy as God is holy.

Roeder was seen hugging the leader of a clinic protest and had the number of an Operation Rescue staffer (another ex-felon who went to prison for a bombing). These are facts. If they are inflammatory then the truth is inflammatory. The fact is there is much documented cross pollination between the establishment antiabortion groups and domestic terrorism.

People who disrespect the moral agency of women go to great lengths to justify their position. The fact is the reasons for a woman's abortion are no one's business besides hers and the provider's.

I think I would include the man involved in some cases. Sometimes it is a joint decision.

And the father of the baby. The father has just as much right to say in the matter. That's, of course, depending on the woman actually telling the father of the child that she wants to have an abortion.

What's growing inside of her is a part of him.

Of course, but he doesn't sign the consent. If they disagree, ultimately the decision is hers.

Not legally.

Both times I was pregnant my husband wanted me to get abortions but I was able to refuse because it wasn't up to him.

And how many of those infants and toddlers who died in the flood, have been in paradise ever since, enjoy a life with God ?

Well could you provide us with a link because the only thing I have been able between Roeder and Operation Rescue as far as strong relationship is aqcuistations on message boards, blogs and unreputable activist sites.

Well being its the mother who will carry the baby nine months in her womb, and be responsible for 90% or more of the childs upbringing, I think it gives her a little more say in the matter than the father.

I'd hazard to guess the same % as infants and toddlers that are aborted or murdered in the world.

I cannot capitalize his first name since he deserves no recognition whatsoever but pure shame.
If anyone here does not know who or what I am talking about, please read the news.
How do you feel about the man being shot to death? Murder of course. But then again, with him gone, there will be many less abortions (specifally, VERY late term abortions... ones that are illegal if I recal). Part of me says "good riddence". The other says hold on a minute...

Murder is wrong, no matter what way ya twist it....the shooter, for pulling the trigger on Tiller, and Tiller for the blood and their torture of the many small ones who were invaded in a place they had no escape from, with the intent on murdering them......only difference is, Tiller had a legal right to live. The little ones did not. He had a legal right to kill ev ery single one of them. My hunch is that he will now see each of their faces and various other parts in slow motion, as they were ripped apart and hacked up...only thing that will be added, is their screams, all in unison, and he will have no escape...for it will be non-stop.....sorta reminds me of the scene where Marley's ghost has, for all eternity, all that he forged in life, chained to him......

(tiller the killer)
It's this kind of rhetoric that drives the wingnutters out there to kill abortion providers.
What's with the inflammatory language?
I don't see you condeming the inflammatory language on the other side. How about you even out your objection to inflammatory language and tell people you disapprove of 'tiller the killer'

Actually, I think Anderson Cooper indicated that some 80% of these abortions were not necessary for the health of the mother. Which is interesting, because most later terms abortions have side effects similar to actually giving birth to child, possibly worse, but I haven't seen statistics indicating worse.
That was in an interview with another abortion doctor--one who didn't have the same qualms that Dr. Tiller had. I've read the accounts from many of the women who received late term abortions from Tiller. He was very exacting about making sure that the women had two doctors' statements attesting to the necessity for the abortion.
And the father of the baby. The father has just as much right to say in the matter. That's, of course, depending on the woman actually telling the father of the child that she wants to have an abortion.

What's growing inside of her is a part of him.
In most of Tiller's cases, the father was right there with the mother.

I hate this kind of misinformation being spread. The killing of Tiller is all the more tragic because he was one of the rare doctors who had concern for the pain and suffering the fetuses would experience. He killed them prior to the procedure with an injection so that they wouldn't suffer. He also delivered them whole. He did not rip them into pieces like many other late term abortion doctors.

Also, you are judging the state of his soul--something that only God is entitled to do. You don't know his heart. Given what his practices were, it is conceivable that he was blinded to the immorality of what he was doing. It is conceivable that he is not in hell, rather having a long conversation with God about it in purgatory.

Wish I could say I'm sorry he's dead, but I'm not.

Think of the hundreds of children that WON'T be killed now that he's been killed.

They will still be killed, but just under different hands. It is the sin, not the sinner, that should be hated.
