The fact that people want to praise Tiller for his abortion work makes me sick to my stomach.
Tiller is indeed meeting his maker - and I don't think I'd want to be on the receiving end of that judgment.
The fact he acted in a humanitarian manner throughout his practice should indicate otherwise.
You are aware that most of the late term abortions done by Tiller were non-viable aren't you?
Aha, so children in utero without brains, conjoined twins joined in such a way that neither could survive, children with calcified brains, these were all viable in your opinion then?
So it's ok for them to suffer post-birth? At least Tiller gave them pain-killers before aborting them. Is there something intrinsically wonderful about being in pain?
So it's ok for them to suffer post-birth? At least Tiller gave them pain-killers before aborting them. Is there something intrinsically wonderful about being in pain?
Yes, because it's God's will.
Do you comprehend God's will? Or do you dismiss it because you don't understand it?
By this logic, you'd kill everyone who was in pain or was suffering, kiwi.
Keep trying. Nothing you say will ever justify what this man did.
It's rather oxymoronic to say he was humane about how he killed the fetuses. Killing humans is never humane and should never be categorized as such.
The pro-choicers have come out of the woodworks practically worshiping the ground Tiller killed on, while condemning the few people who rejoiced in his death.
... nor should anyone act as though Tiller was a hero, championing the productive rights movement.
PW, I'm sorry but you are speaking rot IMO. These children would have lived short, pain-filled lives and died, can you tell me why you think drawing breath ex-utero is so important? Moreover the families of these children would have had a normally joyful time, that of a child's birth, turned into a waking nightmare, one that they could never wake up from.
Why do you think Tiller is a monster for preventing families from suffering like that?
A fetus is not alive in the sense that it is "killed" by an abortion; talk about rhetoric!
Tiller was a hero who was murdered by a cowardly terrorist aided and abetted by a network of domestic terrorists out of a safe house in Kansas City. The murder of a courageous doctor who gave his life saving women's lives is an attack on America. The "rejoicing" included some outright exuberance but the forces of repression were certainly pleased.
What is "the productive rights movement"?
Hah. You make me laugh. You praise a man for killing babies and you call what I speak 'rot'.
You assume it would be suffering. Most people I know WANT to give birth to a live baby, even if only for a few moments, whether to hold the child and share some precious moments or even to baptize it.
My family has been through this, and countless times they have said they would do it over again to spend those few precious moments with their baby.
Why is it so important for you to play God, Kiwi? Are you not confident in his abilities?
What you are doing PW is assuming that because YOU want to do something everyone else does as well. Most people do not see why children who have no hope of surviving must suffer. You keep asking me if I doubt God's abilities, SHOW ME ONE CASE where a child with a calcified brain, for example, has had that reversed by God. See, I believe God gives us a mind to think with for a reason PW and that reason, in this case, calls me to reduce human pain and suffering because it is the compassionate thing to do.
Tiller was no monster, he was a man deeply concerned over the suffering of families, a doctor who could and did reject late-term abortions when they were simply for the mother's convenience but who always chose to help those who had little or no choice.
