  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well I'm just about at 7 weeks, and not showing anything yet...
Anywho, I am a fan of hip huggers and tight pants. They're not cutting-off-my-circulation tight, just enough-to-put-a-thumb-in-tight. I'm just worried that it might harm the baby. Is this dangerous? I really didn't want to buy any more clothes until I was a few months along.

I don't see where it would be now. You may not get a choice on when to buy clothes, I was showing before twelve weeks. :) Go to the thrift store, it's your best/cheapest option, I think. You can get more clothes for less money, very important now. ;)

I used the rubber band trick on all my jeans up until about two weeks ago! :) I am 28 weeks along!

Use a hair band or a rubber band and thread one loop end through the button hole and then loop both ends on the button. :)

Works great!

Boy! I wish someone told me about the rubber bad trick! But I gained so much weight so fast with my first child, that I went to maternity clothes after 12 weeks!
Do shop the thrift stores if you are financially challenged, however, when you have a little extra, splurge on a good pair of jeans and a nice outfit to wear out!
Target has a great selection at reasonable prices! God bless your pegnancy! :)

Oh! I forgot to answer your question!
I don't think it will harm the baby right now...but when you feel "full" even when you haven't eaten yet, it's time to move on to the maternity clothes. Or, you may get away with just going up to the next size in regular clothes! :)

:( That was never an option for me. I guess God felt I waited long enough to have a swollen belly, so it grew quick! Now I look like I've got two in there. lol I guess cause I've already gained over thirty-two pounds with this little guy.

I wouldn't say that it would harm the baby but it will affect your comfort levels. I'm a comfort junkie - i hate being uncomfortable so i started wearing maternity pants/skirts at 10 wks even though i wasn't showing at all.
The rubber band thing wasn't for me either - again due to comfort.

The idea of going to the thift store is good. I also know from having read some of the posts in this forum before that the clothes you guys get in the States are good and cheap - over here it's so expensive in comparason

I bought low rise maternity pants with the small belly panel and started wearing them around 13 weeks because they were so so so comfortable! I bought them on sale so they weren't that expensive and I've worn them almost every day since. They are absolutely wonderful!

LOL I know what you mean... when I was studying in the UK a few years ago I wanted to buy a summer shirt... the only ones I could afford were the ones that come free in the magazines! LOL Nevermind it was $2.00 to L1.00 while I was there so I got there with half the money I thought I did.
