The goal seems tending toward the middle, although I'd say our fullest realization of our humanity is in a state of being-toward-becoming.

Not sex? Are we not, insofar as our essence can be understood by it's causes, vehicles for the transmission of genetic material? Or would that be to give nature and our "natural being" a purpose, rather than find purpose ourselves as we needs must?

Unless you're really bad at it, sex is quite the becoming activity.

It seems like you're looking at a different level than I am. I would say, according to evolution, then we are gene machines, the goal of our physical being a propagation of genes. However, I think we're more than reducible to this level. Even without any other level, stuck just with an evolutionary paradigm, consciousness seems to screw up the gene propagation scheme anyways.
