  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My family is having a rough time of it health wise. I have two aunts on one side of the family in the hospital. And my dad's mother is 87 and quite ill in the hospital. One Aunt has been coded 3 times when she went into cardiac arrest tonight. I do not presume to ask for her life, I just ask for strength for my mother and other family members. The other aunt has circulation problems and will need to have her foot and part of a leg amputated. All I ask is that she make it through surgery.

My Grandmother is 87 and has a bowel infection. I don't know if she has been able to keep food down this week or not, but as of last friday she didn't. I just don't want her to suffer. She is a tough old bird, but I don't like seeing her suffer like this.

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. I would also ask for strength for myself so I can be a refuge for everybody else.

We are getting the family up here as the doctor said Grandma does not have too much longer. She keeps saying she wants to go home. I think she is waiting on the rest of the family to get here. Tommorow morning me and dad are going out to the cemetery to pick out a plot. We are trying to get ahold of my brother to get him a plane ticket, but i fear he may be driving up here and he has a suspended DL.(turned out he was asleep, but we have tickets for him in the morning) So that is another worry. However I am blessed that at this point I can afford the ticket. I just sold my old truck yesterday so I have money for the crisis. God provides.
I am not so concerned for myself or grandma, but it is hard on everbody else. Especially my dad, I expect tommorow will be about the toughest day in his life.

My Aunt that coded three times is doing better thanks to dialysis, but I do not know long it will help. Tommorow a specialist who is an expert in arythmias(sp) is coming up from Little rock to the hospital to see what he can do or see. Mom is going over to the hospital where she is to spend the night either in the waiting room or a house they have set up for family members of ill patients.

Nana went home shortly before 1pm this afternoon. She is in the glorious arms of our Lord now. I am sad for me and us here, but for her I am happy.

The aunt with the heart problems is doing better. The dialysis has pulled off ~13 liters of fluid. And she looks better than she did 2-3 weeks ago on her last hospital stay. They have even moved her from the Cardiac ICU to the general ICU. Hopefully within a few days they will be able to fly her down to little rock for a defib pacemaker. That is what the specialist reccomended, but she has to get off antibiotics.

Thanks for the prayers, it has been a rough week. I would also like to add a request for prayers for my co-workers as there have been many family members of people who work in the department with me who have either died or had serious health problems this week.

A positive update. The aunt with the heart problems is doing much better and is waiting on a thing or two to clear up so that they can install the defib pacemaker. She is now at the hospital where they will perform the surgery. She has had some internal bleeding that they need to track down before they do the operation.

And the other aunt who was facing amputation may only have a small portion of her foot removed. They will cut a section of the foot off and hopefully find a good blood supply behind the tissue they are cutting off. If with God's will they find that, then she will only loose a portion of that foot.

I am very thankful for the prayers. It is helping my greatly grow in faith.
