  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

people who were innocent but sent to prison anyway?
tulc(is having another cup of coffee!) :coffee:

And what would your guess be how often that happens? I would say maybe one out of 500 or one out of a thousand?

I know one of these lawyers that works for project innocence her name is Cheryl Pilot -- good works she does.

the one who never knew love
the one who alienated and ostracized
the one who father is the devil
the one who failed to exercise godly self-control
the one who the Spirit lifted restraint
the one who lied to himself, "it'll never happen to me"
the one who haughty and full on pride
the one who full on unrighteous anger
the one who could not forgive nor forget nor look in da mirror

I'm curious: how many innocent people in prison is (in your opinion) an acceptable number of innocent people in prison?

Apparently too much coffee there? Was that some type of a trick question? Did you catch my post where I stated I know a lawyer that works at Project Innocence? She's famous and has been instrumental in getting several innocent ones released from prison some after 20 or 30 years. So tulc the answer would be 0.

Seriously you need to cut back on your coffee intake.

Coffee train off the rail.

I'm more curious how God uses innocent people in prison to reach people in prison, bit of a scary thought, but think about it...as unfair in human terms as it is...as terrible as it is...as heartbreaking as it is...Job may be in prison...

How would you feel as a good Christian but innocent and sentenced to 25 to life in prison for something you did not do?
Would you have a little resentment? Or look at the brighter side maybe you were put there to start a prison ministry?

I was a detention officer for 4 years. We had a sign over the visitation entrance that said:

Spare the rod and visit your children here.

My wife would like to incorporate that into her third grade classroom but, as we know these days that message would not fly, she would end up in trouble, even though it's the truth.

I did hear parents say they had never spanked their kids when they visited. It is important that a person associate bad behavior with pain so they can learn that bad behavior results in bad consequences.

God does not put people in prison.
People go to prison because of the bad choices they made. Or in some cases other people made bad choices and sent an innocent to prison.
Prisoners all of the time are turning there lives over to Christ while in prison because another prisoner witnessed to them.
There are many people who come from outside prison and have prison ministries, but that is for discipleship, not evangelism. Evangelism must be done by the prisoners themselves.
