The first in honour is Rome, and Antioch in Syria as well as Alexandria are next. All three are Petrine sees, Saint Peter the apostle was bishop of Rome and he was also bishop of Antioch at a different time, and Alexandria, how is it Petrine? It was founded by Saint Peter's disciple and helper, Mark, who was bishop there.

The Nicene council includes a canon about the three sees.
Canon 6 Let the ancient customs in Egypt, Libya and Pentapolis prevail, that the Bishop of Alexandria have jurisdiction in all these, since the like is customary for the Bishop of Rome also. Likewise in Antioch and the other provinces, let the Churches retain their privileges.
And here is a map of the five sees of the Pentarchy
Pentarchy_565_CE.png

Rome, Antioch in Syria, and Jerusalem are mentioned in the scriptures of the New Testament, but Alexandria is not, nor is Byzantium (later known as Constantinople).

This is interesting from a theological perspective.

The Eastern Churches in Turkey are mentioned. Also Peter established the Church at Antioch before he ever set foot in Rome. What is your point?

Actually, Alexandria makes an appearance in Acts 18:24, albeit only as a mention of where Apollos is from. It was well known that Alexandria was a center for Judaism with many Jews and even a Temple at one time.

You equate Roman Catholic Church Historical Theory with Theology, (The study of the nature of God)?

How so?

Nope.

Jesus Christ is the Lord of history; he teaches through history just as he does through written revelation and spoken revelation and through creation.

Nope - that might be Roman Catholic Tradition, but it is not theology.

Yes, he says he is a priest but how does that make him not a bishop since every bishop is also a priest.

What does the Council of Nicaea have to do with the Pentarchy, an idea that was established much later during the time of Justinian?

I don't get the point of this thread, either, and I'm in one of the churches mentioned in the canons of Nicaea!

It has nothing to do with the Pentarchy, it has to do with the Three Petrine sees.

According to tradition, Saint Mark the Evangelist, also known as John Mark, is ascribed to be the author of the Gospel of Mark. While modern Bible scholars believe that the Gospel was written by an anonymous author, Church tradition attributes it to Mark. Notably, Mark is associated with several significant events:
  1. Founding the Episcopal See of Alexandria: Mark is traditionally believed to have founded the episcopal see of Alexandria, which was one of the five most important sees of early Christianity. He became the first Bishop of Alexandria123.
  2. Journey with Saint Peter: According to accounts, Mark encountered Saint Peter during his travels. Peter took Mark as a travel companion and interpreter. Mark wrote down the sermons of Peter, thus composing the Gospel according to Mark. Afterward, Mark left for Alexandria in the third year of Emperor Claudius (around AD 43)1.
  3. Mission to Cyprus: Tradition holds that around AD 49, Mark traveled to Cyprus with Barnabas after the Council of Jerusalem1.
In summary, Saint Peter sent Saint Mark on a journey that eventually led him to Alexandria, where he played a crucial role in establishing the early Christian community and became its first bishop.

Then why did you mention the Pentarchy and put a big map of it in the OP? What are you trying to communicate?
The map is sort of useful from my perspective because it shows the extent of the Patriarch of Rome's jurisdiction at that time.

It also explains, in part, why Saint Clement who was Patriarch [Pope] in Rome, wrote to Corinth to settle their disputes.
