Backtracking now?

No; restating my central thesis. I'm really not interested in exposing forum members as deliberate liars, although there may be the odd one or two I suspect actually calling them on it would fall foul of forum rules anyway.

The creationist lies thread is about identifying the lies they've been told by professional creationists who know full well they are untrue, but tell them anyway. Most of the creationist posters on here are victims of these liars, and they need to know that. Unfortunately, too many of them take the same view as this chap: http://www.christianforums.com/t794710-3/#post9088799 - as long as he's promoting creationism the lies don't matter much.

I don't want to lower my standards to calling everything I don't believe in a lie, fraud or deception; but for the record, here are some mistakes I think evolutionists hold to:
  1. Deep time.
  2. We are Homo sapiens.
  3. Life started with abiogenesis.
  4. Genesis 1 should not be taken literally.
  5. There are no missing links between A and B.
  6. Macroevolution is microevolution over deep time.
  7. Missing links are nothing more than transitional fossils.

Please show, with evidence, that any of these are lies.

You don't understand the first thing about evolution, and you obviously have no respect for science. I pity you. I'd hate to live my life with the blinders on all the time. What a small world view.

OK, so it looks like the only evolutionist lie, is possibly Piltdown Man... which has been abandoned by all evolutionists today anyway. Not much to show.. is it?

And the lie was not even perpetrated by evolutionists, it was one collector of fossils who did not have a degree in anything, in fact some evolutionists were skeptical about it's authenticity from the very beginning.

Yeah, but that's exactly what we'd expect to see if there was a massive global conspiracy to destroy religion through an incredibly elaborate hoax that's held together for over two centuries despite hundreds of thousands of people being in on it.

Even if all I had was 100 posts, her comment was uncalled for.

No one ... and I mean no one ... holds science up to the Standard I hold it up to.

Not even [real] scientists.

And what does your post count has to do with that?

Embedded in that post count are many posts where I discuss how God gifts us scientists.

But you knew that, didn't you?

And that has absolutely nothing to do with respecting science, which you clearly do not since you constantly try to blame things like talidomide and the Challenger disaster on science.

There are a few earlier threads we've had about this topic where other people came up with examples. One is here (posted by Wiccan_Child) and one is here (posted by me). In my opinion, this biggest single example is what I mentioned here. Haeckel's embryo drawings have been known to be inaccurate for well over a century, but they've still continued to appear in books published in the past 15 years, without any mention of what's wrong with them.

I'm not going to apply my respect for God-given science to sugar coat tragedies made by an organization that denigrates the Bible.

Remember NASA's five theories as to how we got our moon?

And your answer to the above should have been this:

I'm not going to apply my respect for God-given science

Not your post count. That was my point.

And for good reason. No one in their right mind throws out scientific evidence because it conflicts with a myth.
