CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

We are gathered here today, better late than never, to mourn the passing of this thread. But, brothers and sisters, do not be sad, for it is my belief that this thread would have wanted us to be happy and to celebrate its life rather than its passing.
I'd like to share a happy thought that might bring a smile. When I was a scared, young, CF user, this thread became a place I could laugh. Friends welcomed me and showed me that, yes, we can be stupid too. I will remember this moment fondly.
Would anyone else like to share a few words?

Thankyou. I remember the first time I encountered this thread. We didn't get along at first, and I was somewhat wary of its intentions.
But, as time passed, I grew fond of this thread. It introduced me to new people all around the world, tought me patience, reminded me how to laugh.
Somehow, I feel that while we remember this thread, it shall never really die.
