A response with scripture that has been interpretted by the individual as correct the way THEY see it is typical by most here...

The one that got me to snicker on the link was Joel Osteen.

Now I don't follow him, nor am I a giver to his ministry, but I knew his dad pretty well.

His mom was a pip!

Anyhow here is someone complaining about how much money he makes and he takes NO SALARY from the church.

So when someone gives to the ministry, nothing, nada goes to him. And they still complain.

Now that is almost saterical in nature.

Never heard the word, so I looked it up:

pip (noun) meaning:

1. a small hard seed in a fruit.

2. an excellent or very attractive person or thing.

Be careful here, guys and gals. Yes some of these people are no doubt living large off the backs of the sheep. That is NEVER, EVER appropriate. Nor do I believe it is appropriate to flaunt in any manner, your personal wealth -- regardless of whether you are a leader or not. Especially in this day and age where the unbeliever (and believers for that matter) will accuse a person of anything and everything that gives the appearance of evil. We are not to cause people to stumble.

But each person stands or falls before the LORD Jesus Christ and Him alone (read Romans 14). If you really care, then for heaven's sake PRAY for these men! If you were in error, wouldn't you want someone praying for God to open your eyes? No one but God knows the motives and intentions of the heart. If we see what we think to be error, then we must pray for those who we believe may have fallen into it.

"Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted."

- Gal 6:1

If you guys suspect there's a problem, then as brothers and sisters in Christ, I would expect that you are writing each and every one of these people in a spirit of humble concern.

LOL That's what happens when people who don't know the "real" facts start talking. Jesse Duplantis is the same way. His money comes from the sale of his books and tapes. None of the money he lives off of comes from the ministry.

How is it different between making his money off of books and tapes and the ministry? If he didn't have the ministry they wouldn't be on tv or in large arenas. Without the ministry they wouldn't have an audience.

Just because he gets his cash out of the products bucket, doesn't mean that it's not coming out of the ministry, the whole ministry (entity) is non profit and not taxable which is why it stays under that umbrella. The ministry is the whole.

Hence why most of the preachers on this list make their stated money from products. The ministry is the whole. Each bucket is a microcosm of the macrocosm. It's a very politically correct thing to do.

I disagree. Books and tapes are "works" they have created. They pay their rent, buy their family food, put gas in their cars, etc off of that money. The ministry portion is money the people have sent in order to further the ministry....such as food for India, or sending clothing to people who need it. It may be used for moneys to buy food, or gas, etc. that is needed to go to speaking engagements. One they live off for their personal needs the other meets the needs of the ministry and their needs as they are ministering. I know because I use to work for a ministry and I did the ministry reimbursements. There just were some things they could not reimburse via the ministry funds. The ministry is non profit not the person operating the ministry. A writer does not have to have a ministry in order to sell books. I know several writers and they earn their income via the sale of their books.

There's a big difference, but I'm not going to argue with you about it.

I know there are some who abuse it but unless I know that person personally and I'm personally handling their money accts all I can do is speculate on their actions. It's between them and God.
