  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Personally, I find it is simply proof as to where your treasure is, their will your heart be also.

We are not of this world and all that is in the world, the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life is not of the Father.

We brought nothing into this world, and can bring nothing out, therefore with food and clothing we are told to be content.

These are false teachers all, and are leading multitudes away, dishonoring the name of God and the cause for which we fight. Their lives testify to the truth that the things of this world DO satisfy. Oh, they mix some truth with much error, but we are told clearly that they which would be rich have fallen into a snare of the devil.

We are living witnesses to the prophecy that in the last days, there will come those teaching that gain is just what God wants for us. Godliness WITH contentment is awesome, for there is nothing the devil can do to grabs these.

What saddens me is that I suppose some who are not fond of my posts will accuse me here of judging, and that no one can know. No. We WILL know them by their fruits. For ministers to fleece the sheep in the name of God is not an enviable position to be in on that day, and I pray many turn back to true selfless Christianity before it is too late. That day approaches, and to whom much is given, much is required. Just ask the man given the talent who decided that to make gain of such a thing was too much commitment.

May a day come quickly where the true men of God will be raised up, leading by their tears and their lowliness, and by their lifestyle. The world can see the hypocrisy in this prosperity heresy clearly and it is the butt of many jokes.. I wonder why we have such a hard time seeing it for ourselves?

Blessings,

Gids

Why so concerned about this article.

If the men are saved/born again (rom 10:9) they work for Jesus and are accountable to Him, not you.

So if ya don't like them, don't give anything to their ministries.

Could there be some envy, jealousy because they have money?

If they do not please Jesus, then Jesus will deal with them appropriately.

Envy or jealousy would simply mean that the one showing those emotions longs for the very same thing, and just lacks an opportunity.

I suspect very strongly that this would not apply to the OP, nor to me. It is all ash....it just hasn't turned yet. It means nothing and praise God for those who see it. A man's life does not consist of the things he possesses. Do we get that?

Why the concern? Many are being led into false pastures and many are sick spiritually. Does that bother us at all? The gospel has been twisted, to be a ME gospel rather than a not me, but HE gospel, and the heart motives we possess will eventually either send us further into self preservation and self pleasing, or into self denial and the full arming ourselves with the armor He has provided us.... new natures.

This is the valley of decision every single of us must pass through. Will we become willing to step down off the throne of self and abdicate completely to Christ so He can indwell us, or will we circle the wagons of our tattered religious affiliations, reassuring ourselves that all is well just as it is, no reason to go to extremes. One leads to life, the other to a certain weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Here is the real crux of our salvation. Seeing what our Jesus did for us on the cross, will we freely offer up to Him our most precious possession....free will? We have all accepted the blood for forgiveness, but in these last days, we are being asked to truly make Him Lord.... as in:

"What would you have me to do, Lord?"

Costly? You bet. Every pearl we own. But in return He is offering something we have yet to walk in.... abiding in Christ where He never goes away. He overshadows us with His wing. Up till now, we have been like servants who occasionally get to go up to the "big house" and actually be around the master. But the day is coming when we will NOT leave His presence, and yes, here on this earth, in THIS life. It is coming, no matter how weak we are, no matter how bound in secret sin. The highway of holiness is ours, but we cannot walk with one foot in this world and seek Him with ALL of our hearts.

CANNOT.

One day and soon God will judge all these things. God is the righteous judge and knows all things, he will do what is right:thumbsup:

But for myself and I don't want to sound critical. It sometimes saddens me to see Christians who are very hard up, very poor, while there also seems to be a lot of dormant mega wealth in the church. What can you do with ten million dollars that you couldn't do with nine and a half? :)

1. Solomon

1 Kings 10:14 The weight of gold that came to Solomon yearly was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,

1 talent = 75 lbs or 2,175 troy ounces.

2.175 troy ounces x 666 = 1,448,550 ounces of gold yearly

a troy ounce of gold is 1,200 US

In other word Solomons salary was 1.7 billion dollars a year for just the gold.

2 Abraham

Gen 13: 2 Abram was very rich in livestock, in silver, and in gold.

Job after he repented

Job 42:12 Now the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning; for he had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of oxen, and one thousand female donkeys.

Guess so. For example, apparently I'm a 'Norrin', whatever that is.

It's more of a condition, frequent outbursts against the gifts of The Spirit, massive unbiblical data dumping in threads, etc.

You might need to seek deliverance Faulty ^_^

I happen to know from listening to one of these men that they have so many air planes because people keep giving them to him. He keeps giving them away and more people give him more.

I use to work for a ministry doing their ministry reimbursements. The leaders of that group did not live as lavish as these men do but they did have nice things. A lot of those things were given to them by people who just wanted to give it to them. In Kathryn Kuhlman's biography it was told how she had a room where she kept all the things that people had given to her as gifts. There was expensive jewelry, and all kinds of things. She used none of it for fear of what people would think. She could not even give it away because it would hurt those who'd given it to her plus it would look like she was spending money to buy others gifts. She would even wear the same dress (it was actually 2 dresses made the same) so people would not accuse her of being too fashionable. Sad I think.

Also, from listening to these men a few times, I know they give a lot...they just don't brag about it.

Personally, I think their lifestyle is too lavish. However, I don't donate to any of their ministries, and it's not me that GOD has blessed with the money (no matter how it came about), so therefore it's none of my business. It's between they and God.

How many shekels and camels did Paul own? What was Paul's advice on the matter? How did his life contradict what you put forth as totally acceptable?

Peter? James? John? Timothy?

How about the life Jesus lived? How about the words Jesus spoke on the matter?

We can either obey those words, believing them to be true, and bot set our affections on things below, or we can come up with what we think are great excuses. But in the end, they are only excuses, as we try to justify why we think it is quite alright, even spiritual, to try to set our affections on both.

There will come a time when the curtain is puled back on men's hearts for secret thoughts to be revealed to all, and it will not be pretty.

In this, the children of the world are quite astute. They can see hypocrisy a mile off. We can stare at it, and quote scriptures that ease our conviction, all so we will not have to just take seriously what God has clearly told us in the New Testament as to how we are to live.

Blessings,

Gideon

Why wasn't Billy Graham on the list? A 500,000 a year salary, plus royalties and owns a mountain estate?

Gids, what is a denari equivalent to in today's money?

At Jesus birth what did the three wise men bring? And how much gold was the OT standard for a gift from a king to the birth of another king.

I'll save you the effort:

1. A denarii is equivalent to a days wages (12 hours pay). Or approx. 144.00
2. Typical gift for the birth of a king was ten talents of gold. 750 pounds 27,000,000 in today's currency. And that's if only one of the three kings brought a gift.

Kinda kicks over the sacred cow of Jesus, Mary and Joseph being poor, huh?

Why bring up the denarii?

Remember the disciples asking Jesus if he wanted them to spend 200 denarii (28,800) to feed the five thousands men, plus women and children. Waaa? They had enough ready cash to feed all those people??!!

Or how about using an 18,000 dollar. Bottle of perfume to rub on the preachers feet?!!

Read some history, these folks were not poor.

No no, they didn't say they had 200 denarii... They said that 200 denarii worth of bread would not be enough... theres a big difference.

Paul said the Apostles were poor, broken, going hungry and dependant upon the hospitality of others for food and shelter.

Jesus told them to go into towns and seek a household to stay in and provide for them as they went.

Hardly the words for someone who had more than enough money to provide for themselves and then ask for more...

1. Solomon

IMO we should be wise when referencing Solomon. His heart turned to foreign gods, he made sacrifices to them and The Lord raised up enemies against him to torment him. Money was one of the things that brought him low. Just saying :)

1. Mark 6: They said to him, “That would take more than half a year’s wages! Are we to go and spend that much [\B]on bread and give it to them to eat?”

Yes, yes they did have that much ready cash.

2. Paul also said he learned to abound and abase. Paul knew both wealth and need. It doesn't mean he was poor.

3. Jesus complete instructions were.

3 And He said to them, “Take nothing for the journey, neither staffs nor bag nor bread nor money; and do not have two tunics apiece.

Evidently they had bags, staff, bread and money. That they were instructed not to take. Jesus didn't say give it all away, he said don't take it.

Sorry your belief doesn't line up with scripture

 typical response... I'm sorry you see things that way, but I'm not surprised as most I know have this idea of scriptural invincibility about them. As if when someone disagrees then the opposed is automatically wrong because only you can be right.

Again, I don't see things this way, and I disagree with your view on it.
