Thoughts on the 'zephyr'

I know most everyone here has seen or read about it. But what do you think about the posibility of Microsoft's updated 360? Supposedly it's set to be available on May 1st. It'll go for $479 sporting a new black finish, 120gig hdd, HDMI and have a new processor.

Personally I hope it flops. From what I've read on the 360 boards people see that price with no included high def player and say it's not worth the money. And I agree. In some way this may help the 20gb PS3 sell more (if Sony will ship more to the US and stop sending all those 60gigs).

Personally I hope Microsoft flops period.. they are just the 9000lb gorrilla copying everyone else and with more money dominating market places they don't belong in.... that said, I've played a few games on the original xbox and didn't like it, so you'd be hard pressed to come close to impressing me with newer xbox's as they are from the same company, just some updates to make more money....

As a life-long gamer I'll play whats fun. I love XBOX Live both past and present. The experience on the 360 has been a blast with the inclusion of the marketplace.

I'll be getting a Zephyr no doubt.

So, will owners of the "old" 360s be able to trade in for the updated model at a good price?

I need the bigger HD and I really want HDMI. If Zephyr solves some of the freezing/error issues I'll be please as well.

360 is the way to go, as much as i'd like not to admit it. Seriously, its the easiest platform to develop for, i has the microsoft name (popularity) and more than half of the big titles comming out within the next few months are on it. Even titles previously PS3 exclusive (UT2007) have been announced to be coming out for 360 as well. I wouldn't be suprised if Reisistance bears a port in the near future...

I don't know about the freezing but it's supposed to run cooler than the previous versions.

You'll get whatever you can sell yours for on ebay or at Gamestop. That's it.

and if everyone resells them, then expect the price to be dropped significantly, also given the number of 360 units, they won't be worth much, this seems like a unit only for the hardcore Xbox fan, since it's not a replacement to the 360.....again, I'm not a MS fan, but I do know that much about console resale values and Gamestop.... I lived at Gamestop for a while(not literally, but I spent enough time there)
