This is a side discussion from the intent of the OP, but OK.
My take on OT prophecies regarding Israel are that they were the plans that God made available to the nation/country. He originally wanted them to extend their territory all the way up to the Euphrates river. So there are many many statements in the OT about what was going to happen in the future. But God was also VERY clear that His promises and threats were conditional upon the people following His rules and instruction. So, yes, there are many statements in the OT that seem to put Israel in the middle of the action all the way up to the very end.
But then in the NT, it seems that the plans changed. All the OT was leading up to the coming of the Messiah. But at Jesus's triumphant entry into Jerusalem, He was rejected by the leadership of the Jews. All God's wonderful wishes, goals and prophecies were crushed by a disbelieving leadership. Jesus told them that their Temple was left desolate.
So my understanding is that God has transitioned from a traditional country-based kingdom into a believer-group kingdom. As such, the plans originally stated for the country of Israel no longer stand.
But I am not God, and He will do whatever He knows to be best. So I will await and see.
Best wishes,
Kevin
