  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Most Christian faiths do not follow the old testament anymore, it is jewish law.

Really? It is the law that Jesus lived by, although He redefined it into another Covenant one of love and of attitude rather then one ruled simply by law and obligation. We are no longer obliged to obey the old laws if we truly live by faith and live our lives in a manner which shows our love for God, a lifestyle which would automatically see us following the Spirit of the law ((perhaps I could say the moral code defining right and wong?)) (if not the intricate and ceremonial details).

Peace.

It was the law Jesus lived by because he too was a jew. He died so we wouldn't have to do the things in the old testament, such as sacraficing animals and other things.

You will infact find that He died as a sacrifice. His blood washed away all sins (that we ask Him too) and all sins committed by those previously under the law. He washed away intricate legal systems but NOT the underlying morality and Spirit. So He fulfilled the laws, and now we must live a life that shows that He lives within us.

He did NOT die to wash away the law He died to wash away our sins and bring us into relationship with the Father, His death and resurrection bought about a new Covenant not based on Law but on our relationship with Him, so now we behave out of love an not out of fear of a law.

Your wording allows too much freedom, Christ's death is not to be used as an excuse for us to live sinfully.

Peace.
