Those Ionic Brushes

Anyone use those brushes that supposedly destroy pet odor as you brush them. I've seen them advertised & if they work 1/2 as good as they claim Im getting one today for my little furry babies

Wow,I hope some folks here know,because I would tell my daughter who has a large short-haired dog that never seems to stop shedding!

I would love to know how well they work! With our Golden Retrievers we have to brush them a lot (and even vacuum them) to keep the amount of shedding down (not to mention the tedious sweeping/vacuuming of the house and the furniture). Anything that would help with that process, would be divine! Please let me know if these brushes do actually work! Thanks!

It's not a wholly awful product, but mine has permanent residence in a drawer. It lifts hair, yes, but I didn't find it any more useful for odor than a cheap dog spritz, and for the undercoat you'll still need to go back over your pet with a horsehair comb or any brush with more serried teeth after using the ionic.

I've seen them advertised but haven't used one. I have one of the ionic air purifiers and it is one of the best investments I've ever made. My sinuses are so much clearer now and the house smells better and fresher.

I almost bought another one because I lost mine in transit while moving. I do like them.

It doesn't do much good for odors.

Bathe your dog monthly but no more than twice a month. There's a tool I really love called a shedding blade, they lift up dead hair from the undercoat like there's no tomorrow...even on dogs that you know don't shed much. Fine toothed flea combs also work rather well, but aren't as effecient as a shedding blade.

If you do that and there's still an odor problem, it's time to see a vet. Pungent, reoccuring and persistent odors from a dog can be from a medical problem. Bad diet, anal gland that needs to be drained, anal gland infection, skin problems, dental problems (like gum diseas)...who knows. A vet will need to make a diagnosis.
