'Thor: Ragnarok' Hits Theaters with a Thunderclap
After a four-month absence from theaters, Walt Disney Studios returned over the weekend, releasing "Thor: Ragnarok" to blockbuster results and teaching rival studios a lesson about how to approach sequels to sequels.

"Thor: Ragnarok," the latest film from Disney-owned Marvel Studios, took in an estimated $121 million on 4,080 screens in North America over the weekend. That total was colossal even by superhero standards — about 42 percent higher than opening-weekend results for "Doctor Strange," released last fall, and 3 percent higher than what "Spider-Man: Homecoming" initially managed over the summer.

Disney simply repeated what they learned from their animated films and their Disney Channel stars (e.g., Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire) to man-children, comic geeks and young audiences. They understand all the bells and the whistles and are smart enough and creative enough to change the formula a bit to still make successful pictures. Rather than make everything serious and dour, they understand that comedic, but not so campy it becomes a B-movie, is the way to continue interest in your films.

How similar is Marvel comics and movies to the Norse stories handed down generation orally?
Manmade religion and entertainment seems lacking
What adventures does anyone go on
Thor is not based on Norse mythology, it is based on a comic book, which takes its inspiration from Norse mythology.

My apologies. I'm not a bot...at least my programming tells me to say so
Let's see if I can say this better...as it's hard to communicate from different backgrounds

I mean....well what point am I trying to make

Specifically that part about line upon line I was referencing Scripture how people have their traditions and momentum set in some direction...as science references quotes of a man and stories...and food or stories get blended with today's cultures...applied
People seek to prove a point and stack it on sand I guess...it seems like a mess when everyone talks apart from the Rock and water
Just that everyone's always quoting things in man's name and all the science...which is fine I guess
-
The Norse myths came from somewhere...the comics had influences...the movies at this point today...and so on

And we barely see ourselves in a mirror but are so caught up in popular culture...imitating it and being influenced
Waking up each day doing whatever it is people do instinctively...trying not to get tempted by pretty sights but wanting pleasure...why...nobody knows...Do, Don't do...Don't taste, don't touch...
"Why" is what kids ask...but adults are far past that...they just "do" and say "because I can"

I don't know what point I'm trying to make. Ideally life leads somewhere good, I just die anyways at some rate. Paul said he dies daily. I just wanna do something good, I don't know what to say

I think what christianforumsuser is trying to say is;

Why do we waste our time on the things/entertainment of this world when we should be focusing on Kingdom matters. Whether directly or indirectly, that movie was influenced by false deity mythology. Why are we entertaining ourselves with false gods as we supposedly serve the true God?

I dunno maybe that ^

It's hard to describe anything but what a man perceives is what he knows
If you saw anything surreal your limited mind would still relate to comprehend it to what's typical
I can't say anything without someone either hearing jibberish or thinking I'm being offensive, as in another thread I just got reported
Perhaps if people related more the words would translate by something we all share

Everything is so distant from the Word...even how people read the Word. If I soothsaid you'd smile and carry on sinning

Don't worry about it. You are young. The more you post, the better you will get at expressing yourself correctly and understandably.

Well I might not rant here, as this is a movie thread, so enjoy that conversation
My dilemma is if I want to say something useful different than what's expected someone misunderstands and by no means can I just dumb down what I'm trying to convey...and look I've already offended someone by saying "dumb down". I'll keep a cool head but I'd oughta go somewhere where people yearn for it

I can't tell you how many times people get offended at my words, especially when I am proving their beliefs wrong. It is a typical defense mechanism that should not bother you. Just say what you believe the Almighty wants you to say.

But not that I don't want to be gentle or give good gifts. And of course everyone covets and wants things.
How's this movie anyways?
Sometimes people wanna just relax and turn off the brain I guess. Mellow excitement with the family.
Sometimes see enough war and drama brewing in culture...yikes.

actually, as I understand it, the Marvel movies have very little to do with Disney per say, but rather, the Marvel team has more or less complete creative autonomy from the normal Disney muckity mucks. This is one reason why the Marvel movies are superior to the DC movies. The Marvel movies were made with long term planning in mind with a hard core team that understood the franchise.

The DC movies are piecemeal affairs done by people who really don't know or care about the franchise which is why so many of the DC movies were horrible...

they (DC) had to learn from Marvel and it took them almost a decade to start turning out decent movies (the exception of course being the Batman movies).
