Just as a historical note, it is worth remembering that the Indian subcontinent was not out of contact with the near east or west. There was trade going on and travelers most certainly went back and forth, as did religion. So, while they may not have had the NT as we know it at first, they most certainly were in contact as Christianity developed there and in the West, and even further East in China. Some people do not realize how connected the world was, or has been, even at that time.

I once read somewhere that Apostle Thomas took the Gospel to India. Did he leave before the rest of the New Testament was written? If he did, did he bring a lesser Bible with him on his outreach, such as no Pauline epistles nor books like Revelations...?

Dont know a lot about Thomas but what I do know he absolutely went ot India.....
Especially southern India...where many christians are today......
We had missionairies in India and it is all there tradition that he went.....
I talked to an older India christian lady years ago and asked her this question and she pointed out to a certqin mountqin where they claim thomas was beheaded she sqid just outside her village.....
Your question of NT writings...no they probably didnt have few if any of these....

They used the OT and went to the Jews in the synagogues and the holy Spirit and the testimony of Jesus as Jesus instructed through mighty signs and wonders......

I believe Jews were in India as I know they were inPersia or Iran........
Matthew tradition says went to Arabia...?????
PEter qlso went east to eastern Turkey, Armenia, Iraq and PErsia???or. iran????
The 1st century chruch was heavily Jewish as a foundation
All the apostles went to Jews first in the synagues. PAul Peter James........
While Peter may have specifically targted Jews ..... As seen in 1 Peter.....
To the pilgrims of the dispersion........
These were jews scattered in Nebuchadnezers day and further to Persia....
Also the dispersion of Assyria and the northern 10 tribes

Also James wrote to the Jews.....or Israelites....
JAmes 1.... To the 12 tribes scattered abroad.....

There was never an issue with going to Jews first in the first century...that was Pauls gospel......
Romans 1:16. Jew first then to the gentile
The question was wheather to include gentiles.......

Paul decided that Peter would go to Jews and he would go to Jews nd gentiles......
Galations 2:9
Peter James and John would go to jews
And paul and barnabas would go to gentiles....
