This Valley I'm in...

Howdy

Anyone else here in a valley they can't seem to get out of?

I myself used to feel like I was on a spiritual mountaintop, even when things in general were not going well. For the last seven years though, I've been in this extremely spiritually opressive valley, and I no longer feel any intimacy with the Spirit of God. Maybe this is just the way things are gonna be for me until my day comes, who knows.

Anyone else stuck in a rut?

I seem to be going even more insane, can someone please tell me how to start a private conversation on this site???

I've been going through a long valley and it often gets so dark it seems all over, last week I was told to laugh, so laugh I did and it brought me to a greater freedom that I've had for awhile, though a couple of days after I recognized that the enemy was encroaching my thoughts it had weakened me and I ended up in the valley again, the constant barrage of thoughts was incredible, I was weakened and felt powerless to do anything, I tried praying and it was difficult to get any words out. This morning I thought I'll try laughing again, and what do you now it all lifted. I know God is taking me to higher ground and the devil is at war to stop this, and he thought he had the victory and I was in a very dark place. Hope this helps, try laughing at the devil, laughing at your circumstances.

Laughing might seem a bit weird to some and it is to me, but I have a sense of joy in me now. Laughing like the promises of God are real is an act of faith in the face of darkness.

Dark Nights of the Soul can last as long as you have experienced (continuously), although it is uncommon. More common is on and off again (which can, overall, last even longer). If you have been maintaining hope in Jesus that he will deliver you, it is only a matter of time before it gets better. Maintain your spiritual disciplines as best you can (which sometimes isn't much).

Yeh it just says things like ignore, profile page, follow, but no start a conversation.

The disciplines game has gotten really old, I just feel religious. But I guess that's all I can do.
