Jesus of Nazareth spoke the truth about everything. His ministry caused the religious leaders to condemn Him to death for claiming the truth, that He is the Son of God. Yet He gave His body to be scourged, spit upon, slapped, insulted, and crucified as a propitiation for our sins. God's wrath against us was satisfied at the shedding of blood and death of Jesus. God's wrath was completely exhausted onto Jesus.
And so God loved us so much He allowed all this to happen to the Servant of the LORD mentioned in Isaiah 53, a prophecy Jesus fulfilled. Furthermore, Jesus is God, since the LORD's own arm brought salvation.
