This is the ideas I have for a script, which at school in drama we are going to do a film project, and would like to do it.

Plot: Follows two kids, Billy 1 and Billy 2(very early plan) and show the two roads each takes(they are both saved btw) and shows in the end as they are adults how they each finally reach the same stop. B 1 is a strong Christian who follows the path of God. B 2 does the exact opposite, getting involved it drugs, sex, crime, the whole nine yards of bad. It follows them to when they are 40(they are friends as kids, then drift as they go up through High School) and we see B 2 in some place(early, I know) and he is just living a terrible life, like I said the whole nine yard. We see B 1 going through persecution as well, but this is because he is a missionary in Nepal or someplace.

They meet up both at the age 47 when b 1 is doing an outreach in the inner city of Chicago(for now) and when he finally finds who he is, B1 takes him to his home(this is significant because B 2 was really rough on B 1 in HS, such as beatings) and over a period of say two or three weeks/maybe months, we see B 2 come to God. He dies a month after that of AIDs(from the needle use of drugs, not homosexual acts.)

I love it!

I once reflected on the story of the Prodigal Son and realized that the best thing that the prodigal son did was to leave home and learn things that he came home and shared with his stay-at-home brother.

I realized that the stay-at-home brother was not envious of the party that his father gave for his returned brother because he loved his brother and both spent a lot of time catching each other up on the goings-on while they had been apart.

I also realized that the father was quite fine to give his son the funds to go off on his own because the wise father knew that the son would discover his heart's desire on such a quest. And, he did indeed find his heart's desire, didn't he?

Maybe the story of the Prodigal Son might contain some tips for your story.

Sounds like you have a winner, with what you related to us.
Go for it!!

that sounds good! but how do you write about B2's conversion? that's crucial to the whole plot.

I was thinking while he is getting better at B 1's home, B 1 tries talking to him, B 2 not being able to move has to listen. Over that period this will involve the actor to use very large usage of facial expressions.

Scripting feelings... hmm, not easy to do... I'm very impressed. Are you intending on using their reunion to represent a sort of divine arrangement?

I think that this would be an excellent witnessing tool.

Well, the scripting feelings are mainly up to the actors. I just explain what they have gone through and want them to take it from there.

I need to sit down and get some hard planning. I am blessed to have actors at my church and others at school who I think/know are christians.
