For my own interest and learning I have only a question I would like for some people to answer if they will. I will make no scrutiny or evaluation of the information provided

Many people speak the name of Jesus and many people say they know him and many people promise their lives and efforts and emotions to him. How many of us would say they actually come into contact with him? How often do you feel like you meet with this person yourself the way you could say you could have met me?

This isn't intended to create impressions of anyone's spiritual health or life. I only ask because I am interested in the way Christians view God since there is certainly more than one form of Christianity in the world today. I also rarely value absolutes and I value freedom of thought very highly. Please answer if you will, I have no desire to evaluate another person's spiritual health and that certainly isn't and never will be my intent.

Jesus is the way, religion is only the way if it contains Jesus, but it also contains man's interpretations. Religion is almost worthless in my opinion. To answer the question i don't know Jesus like i could know you because you are here in flesh and Jesus is here in spirit. Flesh doesn't know the spirit, it knows flesh. God knows me better than i do myself or another person does, this means he knows me but i struggle to know him. I know of gods presence or his spirit but as for saying its god or Jesus or the holy spirit in particular i can't say. But they are separate yet the same i think. I do have God's spirit within me, i always have, just never realized it. Allowing myself to be lead by the holy spirit and talking to Jesus or to god in Jesus name (still confused on that one) may help me know him better, this is my hope. I guess my answer is that i don't know god like i want to and may god's will be done in me. Speaking jesus name has power i think. Speaking his name even if im not sure if or how well i know him is good for me. I know what the bible says of jesus, i know that God is real within me and i walk by faith and not sight. But i do struggle to see as i walk. this is all iknow, hope it helps.

Life turned very ugly for me. I was broken, nothing left but misery except one thing. Hope remained in me, a spark of hope a strong feeling of love and forgiveness. I wanted to die yet something remained that said you are forgiven, i love you it's going to be OK in the end, trust in me now like i told you to. I call it God and his son Jesus and his holy spirit all together, a complex God that works in mysterious ways that i want to love and know more than i do now. Not so mysterious that he doesn't prove himself at times though, god never said be stupid and believe in me for nothing, he said be wise and trust in me, walk by faith and you will find me and know me. I hope in Jesus because all other hope has failed. Praise Jesus for giving me hope in this horrible and confused world. I am a person who likes being right, i admit this fault. And it bothers me, your question and my pathetic attempt at answering it bothers me. Thank you friend. I love talking about Jesus.

I have had encounters with Jesus, but they are few and far between. I am learning to hear the small whispers of Him in my heart, rather than look for big neon signs saying "GO THIS WAY!!"

My friend, there are many religions and denominations in this world, but Jesus never said, "Join this religion, or that denomination or this church." Jesus gave you a command, "Repent and believe the Gospel," then "Follow Me." You need to understand that everyone will stand before God one day, including you. You will either stand before Him with your sins forgiven and paid for by His Son, or you will stand condemned before Him and be cast into hell. This isn't a joke. Christianity is not about humanitarian work or about morality. It is about God reconciling to Himself hell-deserving sinners, like you and me, through His Son, who was was crucified on the cross and took upon Himself the sins of the whole world, and God crushed and punished Christ as if though He lived your sinful lifestyle. He paid and took the punishment for our sins. He died for you and me. He rose again on the 3rd day to prove that everything Jesus had said and done was true! Jesus did this, so that you wouldn't have to spend eternity in hell paying for your own sins, but you will if you reject Christ. But if you repent of your sins, and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior, all your sins will be forgiven and forgotten. You will stand before God blameless, without spot because the perfect and sinless life that Christ lived, will put to your account. This is the only way you will be justified before God and allowed into heaven. You can't work or buy your way in. God will also break the power of sin over your life and He will give you the desire to read the Bible and obey it, this is what it means to follow Jesus. This is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. You must do what He has said, "Repent and believe the Gospel."

I often think about this myself. There are definitely times in my life when I feel "closer" to God. But I have a much different relationship and view of him than I would with someone I know in person. When I'm praying I feel like that's my time to talk and reflect. When the prayer is answered that is when I feel its God's time to talk. That is why to come to Christ requires faith. When we get to Heaven He will be more real than anything else we have ever known.

If the following scriptures are not a reality in our lives, then it proves we have yet to STRIVE TO ENTER IN AT THE STRAIGHT GATE. Let no man deceive you, as born-of-God Christians, we must sincerely KNOW JESUS as a savior from sin, and Lord of our lives.

Luke 13:24 STRIVE TO ENTER IN at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

Regardless of our denominations, churches, synagogues or Christian groups, we must all truly KNOW HIM in a reality.
