I disagree on the anonymity part. Even though I don't know TCB's real name, thecolorsblend is a name so I can identify him. It is like a nickname. Posters are only anonymous if they check the anonymous sign-in box. Doesn't anonymity just mean not using a name, such as calling myself a woman with red hair?

As for not being in the same meet space (sorry, intentional typos drive me nuts), I don't think it matters. If you were talking on the phone, would you think it isn't the same as meeting someone in church?

Talking on the phone to a disembodied voice coming through a speaker is definitely NOT the same as meeting someone in-person.

My point is although that is true, people still think it is "real life" just because it is not the Internet. So to say talking on the phone is real life, you must say the same about CF and other message boards.
