Well to be clear, I think the first comment about offense was right. Offense is almost always taken and not given.

To repeat, I think there are far too many people who thrive on being perpetually offended.

That is not true. And if it were true it would be sad.

Great art, which can include song and film, absolutely promotes values, which you may respect or abhor. It makes you examine your own life and choices. It reveals the situations that other people are dealing with. Its not just something to distract you for a couple hours.

I do agree with that for sure. I just wont go all the way with it to the point where we're supposed to be "cool" about everything no matter how horrible it is.

I just don't agree that this song is "horrible". As I've already stated, there are things that I absolutely disagree with in the song. And even the point about "vigilantism" is valid. But am I "offended" by any of this? Nope. I'll just let the people who made it number one on Apple Music yesterday enjoy the song while I listen to something else.

The song was released in May. But one minor correction. The video has some perpetually offended folks riled up for contrived reasons. I suspect most people "offended" didn't even know who Jason Aldean was until they were told they should be upset.

Admittedly, I had not seen the video. So I just went to YouTube and watched it. I looked very hard for something that someone could consider offensive but came up empty.

Had it not been for all of the "offense" taken, I may never have even heard of this song. But it now has more exposure than it could have ever had because of those who chose to be offended. In seeking to suppress and condemn the song, they've simply amplified its reach. Totally counterproductive.
