No, not really. The soap books were interesting at first but now they're getting boring, I think I've read too many. Lol.
Yes, I guess that reading too much about soap would get boring for me too. :D

How are you today? :)

Well, I'm back. Had a wonderful time! I got back night before last and spent all of yesterday rock climbing. I got the first move of a hard route that I've been working on, so that was exciting. :) Not that you guys really care...but anyway. I'm open for questions if anyone wants to ask. :)

Hello,

Hope you can give me some good tips. Here it goes. My book " A Touch of Peace" just became published and is available on most online stores and some of my friends and family have purchased it, but that is as far as it goes. I must admit that I am very lousy at marketing and promoting things. That is just not my cup of tea. I am a special education teacher and mother of an autistic son. I myself have bipolar and it gets very difficult at times to balance my whole life. I really believe in my heart that God opened the doors for this book, but I feel like I must be doing more so that this book can be used as a witness tool. Unfortunately, I cannot afford to give this book free, because it is a POD. If you have any ideas I would deeply appreciate it.

Welcome back! I'm glad you had a great time :) I've never tried rock climbing... it sounds kinda dangerous! Is it hard? :)

Thanks. It's actually not as dangerous as most people think it is. Most accidents aren't due to equipment failure but to the people themselves, like not taking the right precautions, lack of communication, knowlodge and expierience, stuff like that. The thing I find the hardest isn't the physical aspect but the mental part. I struggle with the height, when you're 1,000 ft. above the ground, you have to keep your cool. :)

Congtratulations on getting your book published!
I don't know what your book is about or what kind of marketing you've tried, or your budget and such, but I'll see if I can come up with a few vague ideas. I don't have much experience in this sort of thing, so I dont even know how you would go about doing some of things, but anyway....

-Place an ad in some christian magazines
-get some local radio station to interview you
-make your book available for sale at conferences that pertain to it
-get a magazine to interview you and talk about your book in exchange for some free books for them to give away (i have no idea if something like that would work, it just popped into my head) :)
-get a booth at a book show
-try something local, just to get the word out, like host some sort of event where you could talk about your book and why you wrote it, have free food, do a raffle...

Well, thats all I could think of with the information I have on your situation, don't know if any of it helps or not. :)

You're welcome! :) I'd be probably really scared then... but I guess it's possible to get used to it :)

Yeah, it took me three years before I was able to not feel sick with fear. Its better now but I'm still not totally at ease at that height.
I guess everyone would be afraid of it, at least a little...

How are you today? Have you been doing anything interesting recently? :)

No not really, I'm sticking close to home for the next few days, I have to watch my little sister because my parents are on a business trip. I've got plenty of things to keep me busy though. The lye I ordered to make soap should be here tomorrow or the day after, so I can do that when it comes (finally!).
