Hey, nyj. I very much enjoy your posts. You always make your points in a way that anybody can understand without watering the teaching down in the process. You do a great job. I understand your frustrations, I really do. It is very hard for me to respond with kindness sometimes. The Lord knows I have a filthy temper, since He gave it to me after all.  I am, in unguarded moments, a sharp and sarcastic person with an appalling lack of patience. It pains me to know it, and I am slowing conquering it with God's help. I have come to regard the type of posts you speak of as tests of my resolve. Like God is saying, "Ok. Here's your chance. Show Me the Christ." I have been accused of 'kissing up' to the anti-Catholics, of surrendering my faith in the cause of "can't we all just get along', and of being a conniving schemer whose 'kindness' is just a mockery. *shrug* I've come to the conclusion that I can't please everyone no matter what I do, but I can still try to please God and His opinion is the one that matters.
Keep your hand on the plow, my friend, and may the Peace of Christ be with you. 

 

Don't give up Zoomom.  Some people just have hate in their hearts and no matter what you do or say they will dislike you all while claiming to be a Christian.  We should pray for these people Zoomom. 

Don't think your kindness goes unnoticed or unappreciated Zoomom.  If everyone here posted with the love and kindness you do then it'd be a completely different forum.

I would like to point out that you are in a Catholic only area. Those of us that are not Catholic and have nothing negative to say are welcome to post here. If you have an issue that you wpould like to raise concerning the Catholic Church's doctrine feel free to do so...somewhere else. Get my drift?

Chelcb I don't have a problem with the 'church'.....just her doctrine.

Then discuss your problem with doctrine by asking questions so you better understand it which in turn will help you with your problem. Understanding does not equate acceptance, believeing, or converting, it only does away with insensitive comments which leads to attacks on both sides of the fence.

 

I think the way you asked questions in the Mary thread was very well accepted.
