And I think Christian History is exactly where it belongs.

In 2005 I wrote a Gospel harmony. I didn't write a synopsis, and I didn't write a side-by-side comparison. I wrote a harmony, just like Titian did with the Diatessaron. I synthesized all four Gospels into one, editing as the Holy Spirit lead me to do--and with His full authority. There is nothing I am more sure of in my life than that. But I went one step further than Titian. I synthesized in the Gospel of Thomas--which we all know should have been in the Christian Canon, just as Cyril of Jerusalem believed.

In doing that harmony (the four NT Gospels and the Gospel of Thomas), I created the first harmony of its sort in all of Christian history. It's right there on Amazon. I'm not trying to get you to buy it, believe me I'm not. What matters is that I lived in a time when I could self-publish it. It's final form when up in 2012.

I, Edward Gordon, am part of Christian history, whether anyone likes it or not--whether I even like it or not. Go to my profile and check out my website if you want to know more, but that isn't necessary either. Kindle and CreateSpace made it possible for this Gospel harmony to exist, and I have been privileged to live in this time and be that kind of "heretic" if you will that loves Jesus so much that I could do this thing in his name.

No one cares, and I don't care that no one cares. I am fully clear on my mission in life. And my next thing is to write a comprehensive critical commentary on the Veridican Gospel of Jesus Christ. It will take a few years, maybe more, but it will be done, and I am blessed like the Virgin Mary to be able to be God's handmaiden in this endeavor.

Thank you for letting me tell you about this.

I synthesized in the Gospel of Thomas--which we all know should have been in the Christian Canon, just as Cyril of Jerusalem believed.

1) No, there's no reason for any of us to believe it should have been in the Canon--none of the Fathers regarded it as canonical, it has never been accepted as canonical. So the claim "we all know" is entirely wrong.

2) St. Cyril did not consider it canonical, just the opposite; Cyril of Jerusalem regarded the work the heretical product of the Manicheans and that reading it corrupted the soul.

"The Manichæans also wrote a Gospel according to Thomas, which being tinctured with the fragrance of the evangelic title corrupts the souls of the simple sort." - St. Cyril of Jerusalem, Catechetical Lectures 4:36

"This man [Mani] has had three disciples, Thomas, and Baddas, and Hermas. Let none read the Gospel according to Thomas : for it is the work not of one of the twelve Apostles, but of one of the three wicked disciples of Manes [Mani]. Let none associate with the soul-destroying Manicheans, who by decoctions of chaff counterfeit the sad look of fasting, who speak evil of the Creator of meats, and greedily devour the daintiest, who teach that the man who plucks up this or that herb is changed into it." - ibid. 6:31

It took me less than a minute to learn this through a Google search, and only a couple minutes to find, copy, and paste the relevant portions from Cyril's writings. By all means, anyone can find them write here.

But I suppose self-promotion and vainglory took priority over a basic attempt at fact-checking.

You don't even know. You can't see the future at all. You don't even know what I'm talking about.

I know that you think yourself terribly important, that you misspelled the name of Tatian the Syrian, and are objectively wrong about St. Cyril of Jerusalem's position on the Gospel of Thomas.

I believe rewriting the Bible into a Readers Digest synopsis is a no-no. You can say that someBible translations do that very thing but at least they are supposedly referencing ancient manuscripts and not producing a book report version. You seem to be quite prideful of this accomplishment but maybe I'm reading your post wrong. If so, I apologize.

See, you don't get it. You're laughing. You don't care, and why? Because traditional Christianity has been so adulterated, and you know exactly what I mean. It's fast becoming a joke. It has almost 0 societal influence anymore. And why? Because you all bow down to the almighty dollar more than God. You love the world more than Christ.

The Gospel itself may be original and nothing more than that. After all, people have the NT and The Gospel of Thomas right on their bookshelves. But the commentary is going to change everything.

And you laugh at me and mock me. But what have you done? WHO ARE YOU? You're going to go to Judgement day wondering what you're going to get for being "pretty good people." I'm going there, and when I arrive, I won't be worried about any of that, there will still be work to be done, and whatever council of angels he gives me, we will get it done. Veridicanism won't mean anything in my lifetime, but it will in the future. It's going to be the next wave.

So, go on and take the mick. Laugh. Mock me. And I will pray that the Father forgives you, because you don't have a clue what you're doing.

You may want to do some spell checking throughout your site. For example, Agustus Ceaser is spelled Augustus Caesar. Also these are blatant rewrites and are in meaning completely different than that of most of the scriptures.
While I acknowledge your zeal for the work, editing the word of God is not necessary. Just put them in order if you were to do this. Don't cut and paste portions of the verses to make sentences. Keep in mind, that the men of the past wrote the scriptures as they themselves were moved by the Holy Spirit. To undermine their work would be going against the Spirit itself which is what you are doing in continuing in said fashion.

Turns out I'm not a mind reader. So if you want to say something, you have to say it.

It's fast becoming a joke. It has almost 0 societal influence anymore. And why?

I wasn't aware that Christianity was supposed to have societal influence, seems to me that the point of Christianity is to follow Jesus Christ.

Because you all bow down to the almighty dollar more than God. You love the world more than Christ.

And you know this because you know every Christian in every congregation in every denomination in every nation on the earth and can therefore make this kind of judgment? No? Oh it's just a lot of smoke and hot air?

The Gospel itself may be original and nothing more than that. After all, people have the NT and The Gospel of Thomas right on their bookshelves.

Most of us spend time studying and reading Scripture, not just having it on our book shelves--and the Gospel of Thomas is neither a gospel nor Scripture.

But the commentary is going to change everything.

"Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall." - Proverbs 16:18

And you laugh at me and mock me. But what have you done? WHO ARE YOU? You're going to go to Judgement day wondering what you're going to get for being "pretty good people." So you're the prophet of a brand new religion. I see. Well here's two cookies.

Oh, yeah, I'm typing here at light speed, and I mispelled Tatian. Sue me. That really matters in this doesn't it? That makes you feel like you're superior, doesn't it? Well good for you. You sure did get me. And I'm not wrong at all about Cyril...Google it.

The Veridican Gospel of Jesus Christ is longer than any of the Gospels. It's not condensed. Prideful, huh? No. But I have done something that no one in history has done before. That's not pride. That's a fact. And others will, believe me, they will. But mine will be the first. And if I don't put this candle on a shelf, who will see it? No one.

It's admirable for anyone to do the work God has set before them. It may well be His will that attention is being again brought to it so others can find what they need for their journey.
Welcome to the forums and I hope you find peace and fellowship here.

This isn't the work of God. It isn't God's work to pervert the Holy Gospel by mingling it in with heresy, and promoting oneself as the founder of a new religion.

That isn't the work of God. At best it's the work of human hubris, at worst it's the work of the evil one.

Sigh.

I feel good about my decision to not jump onto this OP. But at the same time my bedside manner can be lacking so I'll leave this to a better man/woman than myself...at least for the moment.

And glad to see others here are pretty secure with themselves...we don't all share that attribute, and sadly things can get a little wonky when we don't.

The spelling error has been corrected and I appreciate you pointing it out. No doubt as I do the commentary, I will find other simply grammatical and spelling errors. And when I have corrected them, I will upload what I will call the 3rd printing. to Kindle and CreateSpace.

And you are so wise about spelling. But you are completely wrong about the original writers. You don't even know who they were. You have no clue who they were or why they wrote. You know nothing about where they even got their stories about Jesus from. And I'm not contradicting them anyway. I'm doing what should have been done 2000 years ago. One Gospel. That's all there is. That's all there has ever been. You should know that.

I haven't read it so can't say either way but he did state that was his belief so I'm sure that his words will not return void because any truth he is standing on will soon be replaced with a higher one from God. If he is paying any attention at all to God and not to past accomplishments that bear his name rather than God's.

I don't follow anyone but the Holy Spirit and the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. You follow men who have made you feel inferior to them. I proselytize no one. No one can be a Veridican while I'm alive. I totally eclipse it. I am totally in the way of it. But that's how it is for now. That's how it has to be.

Sigh.

It has to bear my name. That's part of it. This Gospel is not anonymous like the others. The future will know exactly who wrote it and when and why. But don't get me wrong. I'm not looking for Glory here and now. That's completely impossible. I have to be dead before this can ever have life. I know that. No one can be a Veridican while I'm alive. Probably no one will ever read the VGJC while I'm alive. But that's the way it's supposed to be. And there is work to be done. The Gospel is just a Gospel record. The commentary is what's going to really matter.
