I only been using these forums for a month or so and found it the BEST,most friendly group of people on any Internet forum so far, I have used forums for games/occult/martial arts/Islam/insert a religion here/ etc and this one has the nicest bunch of people in my opinion.

You want to see horror? Just start posting comments on YouTube :/

If God were a fifteen-year-old kid with a video camera, we'd all be toast!:D

I'm glad you've found some good folks, here.

God bless :)

I long for the day when the body of Christ is identified more by those who have a healthy and mature understanding of the vital role Holy Spirit has in bringing instruction, reproof, correction, and especially rebuke to the brethren than by those who do not.

Of course, Holy Spirit filled saints calmly discussing different doctrinal beliefs with wisdom and maturity doesn't draw a crowd like a good 'ol fashioned Bible brawl does.

What does judge not that ye be not judged mean to you? How do you contrast it with 1 Corinthians 2:15?

If I may jump in here, the key to 1 Corinthians 2:15 is the phrase "he that is spiritual". Understanding the full meaning behind that phrase unlocks the entire teaching on godly judgment. Without that key, any judging that takes place falls under the Matthew 7/Romans 14 teaching.

/that's the super-ultra-simplified version

Many Christians are self appointed judges of the theology of others posted on this site. Many think that is their God given duty to correct the beliefs of others to conform with their own beliefs. Others are so insecure in their own faith they cannot accept other beliefs.

When God created man (and woman), he created us in his image and gave us the ability to make choices. Jesus warned us to not judge others so that we not be judged. I am a Presbyterian and our church allows us to freely choose how we define our faith. The freedom to choose is great, but it is also a huge responsibility. Hold firm to your beliefs and be your own judge to assure that your beliefs are in conformance with scripture.

More christians need to spend less time judging the beliefs of others and more time affirming others beliefs.

My apologies for the harsh judgment of fellow Christians. They will be judged in their own time by the same God who said judge not that ye be not judged.

Not a judge.

Jack East

I am noticing that. I am starting to believe maybe not everyone on the forums are really children of god as maybe they claim. Not all but definite a good few.

Yep - that is a big 10-4!

You tend to find out pretty quick who submits to the Bible's authority and who doesn't.

I am involved with several other forum sites, not necessarily Christian sites. In fact this is the only Christian site I get on. And compared to the other sites, it can be very unkind at times.

Other sites are calm, friendly and informative. You make a post, and if there's any criticism at all, it's done in a friendly way.

Getting on this site has proven to me that probably 1/2 the posters are bored, and want to either strike gold with a long thread, or vent their frustrations, or glow in the pride of their newly founded verse and their way of seeing things. Probably 1/2 the responders are all too legalistic and are eager to show their knowledge in being perfect with their answer, whether done gracefully or not.

Not saying that this is all you get here, but can't we do better as a body of believers of Jesus? Try kindness, grace, mercy, longsuffering and gentleness when you post and answer. Maybe those are just people trying to ruin the fellowship who are outside of the faith. We belong to Christ, and are called to be holy. We can do this, because all things are possible to those who are in Christ Jesus. Let's move beyond the old man and put on the new.

I don't know, but I just wanted to bring out this point.

I frequent different sites and unfortunately I would have to agree..lol.. I did a post way back when that said dont let the world be nicer and treat you better than the church..lol..

The fact of the matter we have people with different intentions every where.. some good and some not good.. So God is about awareness.. He always wants you to know darkness can reside anywhere even places your perception thinks it shouldnt be.

All The Glory Belongs To God Forever!

i have experienced the same. However we need to remember that others that disagree with what we may say are just saying what they believe in. What i find works is just to say thankyou,,God Bless,,,or "i shall pray for you" and often they just give up forget or start to look silly. You do have a right to stand up for yourself and your beliefs but if there is a case where you are "cornered" ...just pray for them and may they heal from whatever is troubling them. You are not putting a wall around yourself but a Spiritual Sheild. NOONE can take that away from you. I myself am in a category that does not allow me to speak of myself ( due to forum rules) but that is ok,,I look like it this way...You won't cast the first stone and you keep spiritual strength and its sacred and powerful. Many don't need to know of this power you have.,,kind of like an inner exciting secret :) Cheers,,,God Bless ,,,suzi

Christianity: Where the wounded are shot instead of healed.

The "Christian world" is full of those who would rather condemn than restore. Who would rather blast someone than take the time to explain. Is it because their faith is knee-jerk rather than reseached and thought out? Is it because they lack the ability to discern or would rather be told what to think? Being a Christian does not mean "check your brain at the door".

It took me years to finally become a Christian for these very reasons. I finally came to the conclusion that I don't need to listen to these judgmental types, who have some definite (and strange) ideas and beliefs. I've been told so many horrible things by so-called Christians that I've had to step back and just pray for them instead of shooting off my mouth. I've been told that being the main breadwinner as a woman is emasculating my husband and I should be content to live on his disability. I've been told that being an educated woman working in a male dominated field is a one way ticket to hell. Heck, I've even been told that I don't have a "real" marriage because my husband and I have separate bank accounts!

Christians are often most unkind. But, THEY will have to answer for their deeds. Let them go on their merry way with their hard hearts and stiff necks. Don't look to them, look to Christ.

(shrug shoulders) well, welcome to family of God i guess...

but you do have a point. i think i myself can be guilty of that at times.

but yes, you are right, we are the followers of Christ and we need to remember to behave as such.

thanks for the reminder. :)

thats quite often how i feel :) I just now give guidance but I don't back down in my own beliefs. When someone attacks me i just smile and say God Bless. Some Christians would be happy to shoot me dead ( I am not kidding) and they have murdered and shot people like me because of who i am. Luckily i live in a country where its safe but online it get can get vicious sometimes. But we fight back with peace..love..mercy...the love of Christ. all Christians should be able to feel safe :)

I understand how you feel, this website can be difficult at times. Sometimes the best tool at your disposal is the ignore button, I don't mean to say "deal with it" but sometimes there's members on here that we can get stuck in an infinite loop with and it's best to not engage them anymore.

I'm sorry that things have been less than palatable here, hopefully they improve my friend.
