Here is one of my favorites and in fact is the purpose of the epistle:

"All glory and growth were given to you and then that which was written was fulfilled: 'My beloved ate and drank and was enlarged and grew fat and kicked.'" (1Clem 3:1)

It is not the most inspirational passage, but it is the reason that he wrote the epistle. The Corinthians responded rightly to Paul's multiple efforts, but when the next generation of leadership came about, all was forgotten.

How about some good stuff from St. Ignatius? Yes, let's turn this thread into an "In rememberance of blessed Clement and Ignatius" thread. Your turn.
