looks like he is looking ahead, and securing his place in history. Wonder if he has hand picked his successor yet?

Wilton Gregory shot off his mouth, and he needed a way out of Washington. He won't be around for long. He'll probably be sent somewhere else to cool his heels a bit.

If only. No mention I saw of him being kicked upstairs so to me it looks like he will be cardinal archbishop of Washington DC. :sigh:

I actually think it was inevitable.

Would I be in trouble to think McCarrickism lives on?

Archbishop Wilton Gregory of Washington, D.C. made his remarks during a Theology on Tap event earlier this month where he addressed LGBTQ issues in responses to two questions. Rory, a transgender Catholic involved with Dignity/Washington, asked Gregory, “What place do I as a confirmed transgender Catholic and what place do my queer friends have here in this archdiocese?” The archbishop replied:

“You belong to the heart of this church. There is nothing that you may do, may say, that will rip you from the heart of this church. There is a lot that has been said to you, about you, behind your back that is painful and is sinful. I mentioned my conversation with Fortunate Families. We have to find a way to talk to one another, and to talk to one another not just from one perspective, but to talk and to listen to one another. I think that’s the way that Jesus ministered. He engaged people, he took them where they were at, and he invited them to go deeper, closer to God. If you’re asking me where do you fit, you fit in the family.”

Packing the court?
Yes, but the day will be coming when they find out that they have packed for the wrong "court", and that their elevator goes downward, not up.:sorry: :crossrc:

McCarrickism, McCarrickalism, McClericalism. All of the same piece, a particular brand of clericalism where the pastors feed on the flock like wolves.

As far as I know, nobody else has already coined 'McCarrickalism' or McClericalism'. Please let me know if you have already seen it.

Drat. McClericalism is unique but the word McCarrickalism was already coined by Tamsin in a comment to a Phil Lawler piece in February 2019. A Vatican meeting programmed for failure

Simple McCarrickism is already a common word. It's just the concatenation and the attempt to tie clericalism with sexual predation that's new.
