I just saw Third Day perform with TobeyMac at BeachFest with Luis Palau in Fort Lauderdale, and it was totally awesome! Does anyone else like Third Day, and can y'all recommend some great Christian bands that really rock?

Third day are cool - I like La Rue, Dodgin Bullets, Chevelle, Ace Troubleshooter, Blindside, MXPX, Pax 217, Starflyer 59, Sperchick, Thousand Foot Krutch, Jars Of Clay, Relient K, Switchfoot and others aswell!!!

But the music closest to my heart is HipHop, but that is another topic!!!

I like Audio Adrenaline, Sonic Flood, Jars of Clay and Delirious(sp)...Third Day is good but I don't have anything by them.

I LOVE THIRD DAY!! some of my fav bands are audio adrenaline, five iron frenzy, switchfoot, delerious, and luna halo.

Of course Christian bands can rock, some don't do it too well, but man, there are some good Christian rock bands out there, even some of the bands here are not really rock bands but worship bands, but mmmmmm, cool!

  Thanks, y'all!  All good choices.  Mr. Cheese, I've heard about them.  Gotta check 'em out.  The Cheese likes some good music (or at least what I'm into).

  Yeah, I know opinions vary on whether rock music is okay or from the devil.  Thoughts, anyone?  Do you think rock music is by definition rebellious?

I love Third Day! I dont know many other bands, because I like southern gospel and praise and worship mostly.....but Third Day Rocks!!

rock music is not from the devil - all music is from God - but some people use music to express things which are from the devil. Some "rock" bands actually publically claim to worship the devil and man, they don't have a clue what they are saying!!!

But lets take it back - music is created by God and should be for God, so give it up for all the christian rock bands out there doing it for God!!!

Yes, third day is awesome! Like I saw mentioned before, Audio Adrenaline and Delerious and Luna Halo are awesome. Another one that has started out at working toward that style is Tait. It's Michael Tait of dcTalk, but you know all of them have broken off into solo albums. He's cool.

Yeh - they are all cool - you see there are some great christian rock bands (even though half the bands that have been mentioned here by other people are actually worship bands, but hey!!!)

My next CD's will be Michael W. Smith's Worship Now and Third Day's Come Together (if their first CD is better, i'll pick it up...if any fan here has an opinion on it??)

I have Third Day's Come Together (which is good) and Offerings (which is better). I want to pick up Offerings 2 (their latest release) at some point soon too...and then some of their older music.

Since you mentioned both Michael W. Smith and Third Day...did you happen to catch them in concert together last year?

No, I didn't get to see them. I think they had a stop pretty close to where I live too. I did see Audio Adrenaline and Mercy Me are touring together right now. I think it's called the GO tour or something like that.

The Go Show with Audio A and Mercy me totally rocked. Personally I liked Kutless a lot, and The Swift had an interesting sound. And of course Audio A totally rocked the house.

It's coming to Columbia Apr. 24. I think I'm going to try to go. It sounds like it will be rockin'.

How can rock be bad!? hehe

Check out Planet Shakers, Fusion, United Live. Theyre church bands that cut albums. Pretty good too. But theyre more praise and worship based, unlike say JarsOfClay [] who sing mostly ABOUT God rather than TO Him. Yea. Third Day and all the other bands listed be good!
