I took my second and third shots today and my glucose levels are back where they're supposed to be! Yahoo! I even had a hunk 'o pasta for dinner tonight (made asian noodles and they were yummy...had seconds!) and my after dinner numbers (2 hours after eating) were 110! I'm allowed to go up to 150 after eating but without the Byetta, I've been hitting 190s and above. Not good at all!

I took insulin shots for four years (1977-1981), but have not since Jan 81. My glucose level has been normal (~110-130) since that time. But when I started my glucose level was at 380 and continuing to rise.


Hope you continue on this good trend.

Grr, it is cloudy and colder today. Does nothing to help with my cranky mood. Think I will go take a look at the quilt I am working on and see what I can get accomplished there today.

Love the pics! I especially like the wild birds. I've been trying to take pics of birds around our feeder but not having much luck. Plus they are mostly sparrows- not a lot of color. When I do get a finch or a snowbird they don't sit still long enough for me to get a good shot! You must have an awesome camera, as evidenced by that 'action shot' of the bird coming in for a landing!

Doesn't take long to get used to warmer weather, then be disappointed again when it's 'only' 34. Oh well. I know winter isn't over yet! BTW, 11 years ago today my dad passed away. He's in heaven and I would never wish him away from there, but I still miss him. So does Mom.

I hope so too. He has been home for 2 days, but about an hour ago he said he started feeling a little better. He's now in our office doing paperwork. I wish he would just rest, but he's not so good at that.

Yes, but isn't it wonderful the assurance we have that we will see our loved ones again? I honestly don't know how unbelievers cope. Without that assurance April 28, Sept. 27 and Oct. 31 would be very sad days indeed for me. Not to say I don't miss Mum, Robin, and Dad. Those days are melancholy because I do miss them. They would be truely sad otherwise because they would be gone forever. As it is, they've just gone ahead. I do get tired, sometimes, of waiting to be with them...

Ach! I need a stiff cup o' tea! Who wants a wee cuppa? I'll be mother. I do believe there's even a wee bit of blackberry brandy left over from the fruitcake around here...

LC, sorry for your loss. It is hard on the anniversary days. Even though we know where they are and that we will see them again.

I have a Canon Rebel XS, I have a normal lens for it and a telephoto lens so with it I can stand back and zoom in to get some shots.

Oh yes, please! I'm still coughing from the bronchitis a couple weeks ago, and drinking lots of liquid is the best thing for it. On days like today when I'm working from home, I usually drink a pot of black tea in the morning, and then make a big pitcher of hot tisane to drink from the rest of the day. I'm thinking peppermint today. The hot liquid helps my throat. It's almost the only time I drink tisanes rather than tea.
