Sounds like everyone is getting good news these days! Can y'all pass it along to me? I'm STILL waiting for Authorization for my diabetes drug. Yes, the one that they gave me in November but wouldn't give me again in December. We're fighting right now. *G*

These are stressful times indeed and I am a bit surprised at how stressful waiting for immigration clearance to another country can be. We're running around trying to get some last minute verification items and of course, what should be simple to obtain has become a nightmare because of one person who doesn't grasp the importance of what we need. I suppose God thinks I need to be a bit more patient, so I will try harder, but this lack of control is maddening. :sorry:

A very wise person once told me that what we want isn't necessarily what He wants.

I have no clue what is going on with them. I called the Ins company yesterday after talking with the Dr's office. Dr's office said they still hadn't gotten the form faxed to them. Ins company said they faxed one several times but they'd do it again. So, while I was still on the line, the VERY VERY nice girl (named Amy) called the Dr's office, checked the fax number, faxed the form and came back to me to let me know they faxed it.

So if I don't hear anything in a week or so (I'm thinking I'll call next Wed at the latest) I'll be having words with my Dr's office. But the gals there are super helpful as well.

Anyway, I'm keeping everyone in my prayers and hoping that everything everyone actually needs (meds, papers...stuff like that) gets to them.

Thanks everyone for your prayers. Love you all!

Kae

That's good, Kae. It sounds like they're not refusing to allow the subscription, but want further clarification from the doc, right?

Doesn't that just get your goat? As if the doc prescribed it to you just for the joy of scribbling out that particular med in lieu of something just as effective, but tons cheaper. I went through the same thing with Celebrex and it cost me $100/bottle until it was sorted out.

I wonder if prescription drugs would be any less expensive if the cost of advertising wasn't part of the equation? One thing you don't see in UK is drug adverts and it's rather nice. I'm a big tired of smilin' Bob. :p

Heh, Smilin' Bob is from Cincinnati...more to our shame. He's whiling away his hours in prison right now though.

The Ins company still has the option to deny me which is what's really frustrating. Luckily I've been taking my blood sugars obsessively and they show that the other medicine just isn't working by itself. That will only work in my favor.

I've never had a Pre Approval for a medication before. I've done them for patients when I worked at the hospital, but that was always for hospitalization (usually psych related) and I would get so frustrated with the run around.

This is just stupid though. You're exactly right, the ins companies are doing it only 'cause of the money. They don't care who you are or what your doctor has prescribed for you. *head shake* It's no wonder so many people go to other means to get the drugs they need. We went to India for my nausea medicine when I was in Chemo. Here 12 pills were $200. From India you could get 200 pills for $12. I still have some left over. :)

No doubt. I'm going to miss being on the border of Mexico.

Just think how much money those involved with prescription drug sales in the US are making. It's really a shame when you think about how it affects those without the tenacity or understanding they can fight their insurance company to do what it should automatically.

Have you ever seen the Drug Reps? Usually they're very beautiful, thin, younger women. Some are extremely handsome younger men.

My ex brother in law is a podiatrist. (chiropodist for those across the pond) My sister says that he was regularly taken on trips, golf outings, dinners, ball games and the like by the drug companies. My Mom still works in the medical field and says that the Cardiologist's office she's normally at (she works with a mobile Ultrasound company going to different hospitals and doctor's offices where they don't have their own machines) is usually the recipient of breakfasts, lunches and other "goodies".

We pay for this. Us. The consumers. Doctors usually go through about a term of Pharmacology and rely on the Drug reps and Pharmacists to be up on the latest and greatest and all that. I don't blame the Doctors...they have enough on their plates as it is.

But it's a shame that the drug industry in America is so...overladen...with this amount of...excess.

Still helping to clean out and repair my grandmother's old house. Also, in the prayer thread, you will read about an accident at work in which my brother was injured. I am just thankful he was not more seriously injured or killed.

Went to the early service this morning. A couple of weeks ago I signed a sheet to go on a mission trip to arizona to an Indian reservation. Its White Mountain Apache reservation. Don't know the details, I guess they are seeing first if they get enough people. There's about 6 or 7 signed up so far

I came to my son's in Nebraska on Friday and plan to head home on Monday. Yesterday, we removed the remaining items from my mother's storage unit. Woke up today with a headache so slept the morning. Now we are trying to figure out what to do this afternoon.

I've been watching the snow melt around the edges. Gets pretty slippery after dark. Tiger has been playing on the sledding hill Bear built him. All the snow from our driveway this winter. Bear even built steps to make it easier to get on top. Friday night, Bear performed with his school's dance team. Usually it's just the girls, but once a year the guys join in. I thought they were pretty good for only 3 days practice. Maybe they needed a little bit more practice. Bear got an inch too close to his partner once and she accidentally socked him in the eye. But he said the performance was a lot of fun.
