CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'll be staying away from here for a while. I can't take what this forum has become. It's a place where people can make up anything they want about the Bible or other people's faith, and be able to post it, and then wonder why we Lutherans get so upset.

That's why we need you guys to stick around. I know I'm asking A LOT here, but just ignore those who think it's their duty to persecute you. Stand firm in your convictions and stand strong in Christ.

Seajoy was attacked by another poster in this forum for no reason other than she questioned the things he was posting. I can't say much more about it because it's a staff issue, but I was thoroughly disgusted at what he wrote.

Just wishful thinking. I'm too old to strike out on my own and go someplace on a whim. After all I have someone in my life now. Actually before I met Johnsgal I was ready to sell my home and move around the country in my RV. Now I have to be responsible and stable. Anyway, that's what she told me.

I suppose it's safe here in the kitchen.Yesterday just really got to me.
I think the last couple of days have gotten to a lot of us. Then to come to a place you think you will read things that will help build you up when down and you read the posts that were the type to tear one down, one does need to pause for reflection, pray about it and go to places that are good for you.
You just get yourself back into your kitchen here when people get a little rough on you here. Your friends are here.
