CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm just now reading a review of BPAL's new Sleepy Hollow scent "Brom Bones"
In bottle: sweet dusky leather
On skin: woo, there's a blast of swarthy musk, but it's tempered by the dry slightly-sweet leather
Half-hour later: pretty much the same, the smutty musk anchoring the dry leather
In conclusion: the simple ingredients of dark musk and sweet dusty leather make an awesome combination. The musk isn't too masculine on me either; it's deep and dreamy

With a hint of lavender? It must have a floral accent to enhance the leather to suit me, but I'll give it a go.

I love making potatoe soup. I also like pea soup and haven't tried to make it yet. Mum used to make pea soup with ham hocks and left over ham. A friend of mine includes chopped up ham, cubed potatoes, and cubed carrots. Woooonnnnnnnderful!
Anyway, with potatoe soup I like to fry onions in butter first, then add left over mashed potatoes, or left over baked potatoes (that have been chopped up and partially mashed), when their really hot I add the milk. I take it off the fire when adding the milk so that it doesn't scald. Then I add lots of pepper! Kinda like the mad cook from Alice in Wonderland.
Pepper! Must have pepper!! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, PEPPER! Ahem... 
Ah, yes, um, sometimes I add Bell Pepper just to make things interesting or a bit of cubed ham.
As to comfort soup, I like a nice cup of creme de tomate soupe. LOL, that's Cream of tomato soup. I'm sorry, just in a silly mood tonight. Still, nothing beats a hot cup of soup when looking out the window at the snow.

Anyone for a wee spot of tea? The kettle's singing and I've got a nice plate of biscuits. It's Perfect weather for sittin' in a warm kitchen with a wee cuppa.

I think I'll always prefer me insulated mugs.....with coffee, at least in the morning. In the evening, a cup of tea in delicate china is good, though. Funny how our creature comforts are tied to such seemingly insignificant things.

I love the ritual of Making Tea. and of Having Tea. I love the swirl of the leaves as the water brings them to life again gently steeping out the wonderful flavors and smells.

Being from northern Minnesota originally, I think "early swamp water" is preferable to coffee
or tea ... but I digress.My best on a cold day? Actually two: 1) hot chocolate 2) hot Dr. Pepper with a slice of lemon.

Mmm I love hot chocolate too. I'll have to post my recipe for "Miss Kae's Ho Ho Cho" (if I can find it. Made it for my SS class last year and they LOVED it.

Not yanking your chain. It doesn't sound the best, but it is really tasting especially on the cold days. We used to drink it on the days we were tobogganing/sledding.

FOUND IT! (now, if I can only read my writing...)
Miss Kae's Ho Ho Cho. (or Holiday Hot Chocolate)
1 box of powdered milk (whatever box makes 8 quarts of milk)
1 can (16 oz) Nestle's Quick
1 16 oz jar of non dairy creamer (any flavor you want. I use French Vanilla)
1 cup (or so) of confectioners sugar. (powdered sugar for those who don't bake)
Mix together all ingreds and store in a air tight container.
To make the Ho Ho Cho:
Fill your cup 1/2 full of ho ho cho mix and finish it off with boiling water. I like to use a candy cane for stirring purposes but a chocolate dipped spoon wouldn't be amiss.
