Good evening, all! Hunter finally got the Christmas tree down, though we still have boxes of decor to put back into storage. Our rec room is beginning to look normal again.

Gem has been fascinated by Kit Kittredge, American Girl (from the Depression-era). We've been reading one of the Kit Kittredge mysteries, and she's really enjoying it. I remember loving the Happy Holisters, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, and especially Trixie Belden mysteries. I'm hoping I can get her hooked as well.

I like the mysteries. I have around 11 Nancy Drew computer mystery games plus about another 15 games of various genre. Best way to spend winter months so as not to get cabin fever.

Hey Rad! Speaking of Nancy Drew Mystries, do you know how to get back into the ski lodge after collecting the final whatsit? That's mystery of the royal tower. I get out to the shed and collect the medallion (or what ever the plaguery thing is) and can't get back in as someone has locked the door.:bbrr: Then Nancy freezes to death on the door stoop.:frozen2: I can't seem to get past this point and IT DRIVES ME NUTZ!!:argh::destroy: Ahem... sorry. Just one of those things. I mean, is there a hidden bazooka in the ski shack, or something? Maybe a door key?

I enjoyed the books much more than the games. Perhaps it's because I can read two or three of the books in less time than it takes to play the plaguery games. I had a nearly complete collection of the books at one time. It gave me a bit of trouble when they started re-writing them. I'd have two versions of the same title that didn't even resemble each other. Did you know that most of those books were written by Alice Norton on contract to the publisher? Carolyn Keene didn't exist. Likewise, most of the Hardy Boys books were written by Walter Farley, the author of the Black Stallion series and other books.

LOL----When I get stuck the game just sits there for months at a time. That's what happened to this game. It's been about 6 months since I've played it. Not sure but I think there was either something in the maintenance shack or maybe even in the garden. I'm not at home right now so I can't...........OH DARN! I just remembered. My 'puter at home is broke. I hope I can get all the "saved" games off of it. I'd hate to have to restart all those mysteries again, UGH!

Oh well. By the time I get my sweety resituated back in MO and everything moved it will probably be spring and my focus will be on outside chores then. Repairing old tube radios and playing mystery games is for the winter months.

One of my favorite mystery games on the computer were the Myst games. I haven't done a lot of others... I got a simple one from BigFish called Dracula:Origins, and as usual it was more the interface that I had problems with rather than the puzzles. It's not that I didn't know what to do... it's that I couldn't figure out how to do it. That's more frustrating than not being able to figure out the puzzle, in my mind.

:doh:Our Christmas tree is still up. I just can't seem to get up the ambition to take it down. DH is home and bored- so we had a discussion last night. I know he is afraid to take the tree down because he won't 'put the ornaments away right' (I am way too anal!) So, I agreed that I will not complain about how everything is put away, if he will do it! God give me strength! :prayer:

I don't like it when hubby gets in the kitchen and puts stuff away and starts rearranging, then I can't find anything.

I learned long ago that I had two options: put everything away in the right place but do it myself, or ask him to help and put up with a few misplaced items. I'd rather do the latter... and over time he's learned pretty much where things go. Things that he doesn't know where they go he puts on the counter for me to put away.

Good afternoon all. This month has been a yucky one for me. Too cold, too much snow, allergies Maybe, lack of energy, other things dealing with. Just not been good for me. I really need to get out of this blah mode and soon. When I get in this blah mode, I spend way too much time on the internet and that is not being a good thing either right now.

This weekend, weather permitting (gosh I hate saying that all the time), I shall be going to oldest son's. Daughter may go with and younger son thinks he will be there too. Please, please God, let the weather be good.

Prayers to get out of the 'blahs', QA! I have to agree- I think January is the most depressing month of all. February is a little better- my thought is that by the time we get to February, spring is on the way. Not last year though. But- we have Valentines Day, and my kids have their birthdays. I'm losing my teenager this year though- it's the big 20!!!

Sorry to hear I'm not the only one. I've been blah since my husband left. Of course, I have been sick, yet still had to get our visa packages together and off to the consulate by Friday. It feels like I haven't seen him for months and it's only been one week. What a basket case I'm becoming!

I have tons to get done for our departure, yet I can't seem to get motivated. Either I'm not completely over being sick or there's something else happening.....of course, it could be the allergy meds, but I think it's a combination of things, including the climate, since it's affecting so many people. Don't they make vitamins for this? :p

The Devil has sure been working overtime on me and now I see God working harder to keep me on the right path. It IS so wonderful and amazing that He does that for us.
