Real cards in the mail are so much fun! I send cards to friends several times a month, and get cards back too. It is such a joy. I also keep all the cards I get and have a box full. (My mother has kept all Christmas cards she's got since the 1970's...it is a lot of fun to look at them.)I got chocolates from my secret sister at church as well as a bottle of wine, apple pear wine, have not tried it yet...
Got a pair of earrings and a rose from a guy I am seeing but have not decided if he is a boyfriend yet.
And cards from friends on another site... Real cards... in the mail... That was fun
I save my Christmas cards too. I cut off the fronts on many of them, and sent them to my nephew when he was in Iraq. The soldiers used them to decorate. I thought that was pretty cool.Real cards in the mail are so much fun! I send cards to friends several times a month, and get cards back too. It is such a joy. He didn't think he'd get any chocolate for Valentine's Day, but he was wrong.
That was a neat thing to do!I save my Christmas cards too. I cut off the fronts on many of them, and sent them to my nephew when he was in Iraq. The soldiers used them to decorate. I thought that was pretty cool.
Makes me want to move to AZ.I've never even heard of seasonal affective disorder. But it does make sense. When I used to live in CT, we'd have day after day of those grey skies and no sunshine and cold weather. Now that I live in AZ, the only time of year that still has an adverse effect on me is Christmastime. I always had my worst attacks around that time of year. Even though it's sunny and warm in Phoenix at Christmas time I still get sad. Maybe it's a force of habit, since I was so used to it back east I've just carried it with me. Since moving to AZ my depression is greatly decreased and almost gone. But some days are still rough.
Another soul here on TCL told me the same thing about the plant type bulbs. I don't have any plants.Hey, Seajoy.Have you tried to put flourescent lights in with grow bulbs? It's good for your house plants, and in your case, good for you! Do you have a rec-room? That and your kitchen might be a good place for them. A dropped ceiling used to be popular in the seventies, does your kitchen have one? If you have any flourescent lighting, gro-bulbs (or greenhouse flor. tubes) would be beneficial to your condition and an inexpensive addition to the house (with the side benefit of not having to just sit in one place for those beneies ).
Also known as SAD. There's a shock!I've never even heard of seasonal affective disorder.
That is very sad.The school bus crash in Minnesota is near my home town.
4 kids were killed. Two were brothers in 3rd and 5th grade. Their sister had died during surgery a few years ago. My niece's boyfriend was best man in their oldest brother's wedding this past saturday. Their are only 2 of 5 children left in the family.
Another family lost their daughter who was in 5th grade. Their son is also in critical condition from this crash.
One of the teachers at the school lost a son as well.
My brother is on the school board for this school. My nephew is speaking at a prayer service today in one of the local churches at about 10am.
I am stunned at what has happened. Please pray for all the families involved. May our dear Lord give them comfort in the salvation won for them in Jesus, while this small community greives.
