MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!! :)

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night, and an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them: "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today, in the town of David, a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby, wrapped in cloths, and lying in a manger." Suddenly, a great company of the heavenly hosts appeared with the angel, praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest! And on Earth: peace, good will to men, on whom his favor rests."

When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another: "Let's go to Bethlehem, and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about." So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in a manger. When they had seen him, they spread the Word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. But Mary treasured up all these things, and pondered them in her heart. The Shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

What a joyous day to have as our own. Without Jesus we would have no reason to celelbrate, no need of even going to church as we would be lost forever. But God made good on His promise and gave us His very best, His own Son to be our Redeemer. Now no matter what life brings us we always have reason to celebrate.

Merry Christmas everyone

Almost time to set out to the 11:00 candlelight communion service. We go to this one instead of the 5:00 "family" service because the choir sings and because it's communion. Plus, it's the one day of the year we allow Gem to wear PJs to church.. and she has new ones that she's very proud of. It's probably the last year we'll do it. she's getting so big! Even in her pajamas, she feels all grown up getting to go to the late service with the adults. But she's almost always asleep by the time it finishes.

Merry Christmas, all.

I have a klot of fond memories of the Grinch, the cartoon and reading all his books to my daughter. I think he was pretty new 26 years ago we all enjoyed him.

We had a candle light service..at 4:30!! Isn't that silly? It was supposedly for the elderly folks who "don't drive after dark"..but it's dark at 4:30 here anyways!!

But whatcha gonna do? :p

Fröhliche Weihnachten!!
(In less than forty minutes!!)
