It's an excellent sermon. I've listened to it twice.
And also with you.
His voice threw me off. I didn't expect it to sound like it did compared to his picture...not sure why. But I eventually got used to it.
I found Law and Gospel in there...how very Lutheran of you, Rev, with Gospel prevailing
The only thing I'm confused is...you asked them to sit at the beginning of the sermon and then at the end you asked them to sit again. When did they rise up?
Radidio--
My hubby has been celebrating the John Wayne centenniel all week. A couple of our cable channels have been showing his movies all week and he's watched as many as he could. Whether one agrees with his politics or not, he made some great movies. Too bad all those cigarettes killed him so soon.

She might have been thinking of the Marlboro man. He died of lung cancer. Just a guess.I know that cigarettes cause lung cancer, but I was unaware that it caused "stomach cancer" which is what he died of in 1979.
When I do the Trinitarian invocation at the beginning the congregation will stand. I announce the text and then have them sit. At the end after I say "Amen" they stand again for the closing prayer. Then I seat them again. It's a tradition that this congregation has. I have been in others that do it too, but not all do.
Revrand, I found your referrance to childbirth very interesting. I was there for my son's birth too. It was one of the most macabre experiances of my life. The wierdest part was when he came out kind of purplish in colour and covered in vernex... looked for all the world like a grape covered in sour cream (LOL ).
