Guess its about time I dropped in and said Hi

I'm retired now, have been I guess since March of last year. I was looking for a nother job but finally gave up a couple months ago. So I have an easy life now. I go fishing if the heat is bearable. I even started ice fishing this last winter after having now done it for 20 some years. My wife also recently retired. Still hard to believe having no work responcibilities

Nice pictures of the goats Stude, glad to see you still taking care of nature.

It is a sad thing that we go all out to protect trees and animals, but not babies.

You know, that's a really salient point. However, have you noticed that these 'tree huggers' as their oponents call them, are always saving trees on someone else's property? Yet, one would think that one baby is worth more than half a forest of trees... or to paraphrase the Lord, many spotted owls.

It's unfortunate that people see "life" where there really isn't (trees) and not where there actually is (unborn babies).

I know that trees are somewhat vital to our survival here, but in the end God's going to decide when our time here ends, not how many trees we've saved.

I had a conversation with someone who thought I should just mind my own business rather than telling women who they should and shouldn't save.

What a sad commentary.

Sorry, Flipper... I don't quite follow the point you're making

Yes, and that's the problem. The whole issue is one of privacy for the mother. Never mind the right to life of the infant. Infanticide is illegal outside the womb, yet not so whilst the baby is still within her mother.

It's a very sad commentary on the ELCA that one of the worst butchers in this conflict was one of their members. An outstanding, most beloved member, pillar of his congregation. This man would perform late-term abortions and kill the baby as it was born through a sleezy legal manovere. It's okay to kill a viable infant as long as it's head is still within the mother. The rest of the body is out, just the head is in. Disgusting, truely disgusting. That a congregation would be proud of having such a member is just... shocking... just shocking.

She is reiterating my reasons for using this particular avatar. This IS a Christian Forum and I believe abortion doesn't fall under the wing of Christianity.

Yeah, that blew me away as well. Of course, I can't understand why anyone would or could be proud of being pro-choice, either. Imagine if someone said "I'm against pedophiles as a rule, but I respect their right to choose to molest kids"...

What she said.

Some people are just afraid of paradigms I guess - I thought it was rather witty. I like it, and I'm a tree hugger! (that would be tree hugger who does believe that life begins at conception)

And here I thought you were on holiday or something...

I love trees too. In fact, one of my dreams was to have a real live tree house one day. Not o childish fort, a real house suspended in the trees. It's one of the reasons I live where I do. The desert is just... depressing to me.

Hi everyone! Happy Sunday morning. We went to such an awesome wedding last night. My son and daughter in law were best man and matron of honor. Here is my son's toast - "May God bless your marriage as He has blessed mine." Ok, so I'm a proud mom.

Tonight at midnight, hubby and I will head back to MI on the SS Badger. My hubby says he is finally taking me on the cruise that I've alway dreamed of - and in the moonlight too! Great - a 4 hour tour. Hope it's better than the 3 hour tour we've all heard of!
