Like Rev said - so happy for you and your mom, Matt.

Lots going on in my life lately, so I haven't been here much. Hope everyone is doing well, and looking forward to Thanksgiving, Advent and Christmas. We are invited to my husband's employers family for Thanksgiving. They are some of the most kind people we know. We are very blessed.
For Christmas, we have plans to go to our daughter and son-in-law's in Wisconsin. Our daughter will be directing the Christmas program at church, so we really look forward to that.
What plans do all of you have? Or am I way ahead of the game with all my plans?
Anyway - God's blessings to you, my friends.

Good to hear Matt!

Planning the holidays? I do know that my oldest will be here for Thanksgiving. My oldest son and my mother-in-law plan to be here for Christmas. The week after, we hope to get together with daughter and her husband. He is a church worker too.

Now all the Christmas plans could change as my youngest is still waiting to here the possible date range of returning to the US from Iraq. Depending when that is, will determine some of our December plans.

First up, will be the end of the semester on Dec. 16.

I am SO glad I took off the 24-30th of November. They have a big project at work that needs to be done by the 30th so they won't have too much wiggle room in the way of edits.

The only thing I don't like about the holidays is that because my husband works at our sister church, he has to work on holidays as well.

also praying for crud relief, seajoy....

have recovered from what could have been fatal kitten trauma last night....our new kitten got his head stuck inside the cat litter jug, and my son and i had to basically operate on the jug to get him out....he was freaking out SO BAD, i had to hold all four legs really tight so he would stop scratching me...i bled all over the kitten, LOL, but he is out, and happily torturing our older cat, playing, eating, etc....luckily for me, my one good gouge i got was on the index finger that i cut the tip off of, it's numb there anyway, so it doesn't hurt!!

good morning everybody, and God's blessings to you today.....

Tiz the season for the Airborne, hack-a, cough-a snort-a, toot-toot-toot!

The Airborne hint for the day: put a citrus flavoured (grapefruit if you can get it) Airbourne tablet into a small glass of 7-up and enjoy! The extra fizziness helps to break up all that plaque and extra stuff, that builds up in the back of the mouth and throat, because of the cold's symptoms. Besides, it tastes a lot better too!

Remember; three to four times a day whilst beating off the nasties! This season is why I don't miss driving a School bus.

Sorry, but I'm still laughing at the picture in my head of the poor kitty stuck in the jug.

Not laughing at the injuries, though.

My mom had to get stitches after cutting herself husking corn. That's comical

Here's a cute kitty thing...we have a powered fountain water bowl (which we turn off when we are gone...keep reading) and always notice the water being soaked around it (and sometimes it's completely knocked over). We deduced that it was Sasha (the Maine Coon) doing it but we never knew what exactly she was doing to cause it.

Hubby caught her in the act a couple days ago. She only does it when no cats are near and humans aren't looking.

Dog paddling. In the water bowl.

oh my gosh, that's hilarious!!! what a goofy kitty!!

my mom once needed stitches because she grated her thumb into a bowl of chocolate....trying to make cookies....

and the tip of my finger that i cut off? yeah, that was from washing dishes....washing a glass, it broke horizontally in my hand, and before i realized it broke, raked my index finger over the jagged broken part and basically sliced the side of my finger off....

i think, normally, stitches come from stupid things, LOL...

Yea right now I feel like I have sunburn on my face/hot flashes. Either I really am having hot flashes or it's my sinuses (and like I said...I've already had sinus headaches the past couple days). I feel fine otherwise. It's a really weird sensation.

The kitty stories reminded me of some doggie stories. I'm prone to dogs

About 15 years ago we had a nice female blonde lab. She was a real charactor and very smart, and something like Huddini with a fur coat.

She hated to be tied up like you can't imagine and was always struggling to get lose. After many years of chasing her down the road after she got off her chain I decided to put her in a home made kennel. So I bought about 200 feet of hurricane fence thinking if I made it large enough she wouldn't try to escape. Boy was I wrong I no sooner had it made and she dug out about 3-4 times but it was always around the extra large chain link door I made her so I could get my mower inside her kennel to cut the grass. So I thought, well thats easy So I burried some sheet steel and half a ton of bricks so she couldn't dig. That almost worked except she only sought out another method of escape. Now she tried to wedge herself out between the door gate and fence, that didn't work cause she got stuck.

Her next method was to climb/jump over the fence. Mind you the fence was over 6 feet high. I scolded her which was real waste of time So I went to TSC and bought some more fence and stakes. I then made a curved fence re-inforced with metal stakes like what the prisons use and attached ot to the top of the hurricane fence. Of course she still got out. After trying yet more things to keep her in I just gave up.

I built her a real nice dog house and got a strong chain and decided to try making my own collar as the boughten choker collar didn't work at all. So I bought an extra long pollester braided collar, the strongest I could find. I took off the end and run it through a large heavy duty metal ring and then hand stictched and rivoted the collar around the ring. The idea was to make a sliding choker collar that wouldn't lossen up like the metal choker did. She get out of the boughten metal choker in about 5 seconds

This worked out pretty good but she still got off or broke her chain about every month or two. She was a the best escape artist I've ever seen. I had even made a harness like used on a horse which went over her snout and neck, accross her back and wrapped around every leg. I tightened it up just snug and though she certainly can't get out of that. The darned thing took me several minutes to put it on her. Again I was amazed to see her get out of it, and it only took her about 3 seconds.

Another kind of amazing thing happened to a husky we had. Avout 11 years ago we had a barn that went down during a tornado right next to and all around and on top his dog house. After the storm was past I went out check on him and was a bit amazed to find him peeking his head out from all the rubble. He had been in the house and it protected him and he wasn't even injured.

The female lab was Sheba. The male Husky was WaYa Adesie which means goose in Indian. It was my daughters dog, while Sheba was my son's.

Sheba was an exceptional dog. She always went with us where ever we went. We always took her with us goose and duck hunting too. She was always full of antics Whenever a goose or duck would come in she would jump and push one of us. On more then one accasion she pushed me through the front of the blind. One time she pushed down the bank and almost into the lake
