Rev, i would imagine you would say that nearly every day...lol....someone at my church told me once "i know what the clerical collars remind me of!! they remind me of barney's teeth!" - fairly accurate, LOL....

Why anyone would support people who kill themselves is beyond me. The main issue I have is they are using bullying as a way to support a gay agenda. Supporting anti-bullying should not have a gender bias backing.

It paints you as someone with a sense of humor. That's good. I'm glad somebody liked it, that took a while to do. Maybe I should head over to Rob Halford's site and see what's what on his calendar. As gay as he is, he should have some info on what's going on this week.

Yeah, I agree. Using the tragedies of the teenagers who have taken their own lives in the past weeks to bolster the organization of GLAAD is just despicable. Is that all GLAAD sees these young people's deaths as? A way to bring more attention to them? The anti-Cyber Bullying laws should apply to everyone. GLAAD is just using them right now because they're a hot topic in the news. And their statement that these kids should be honored because they stood up to the bullies is just ridiculous. If these kids stood up to the bullies, they would still be alive and with us on this earth, they wouldn't have killed themselves.

One reason these kids may have committed suicide is because the bullies tactics were too much for them and they gave up. Where was GLAAD when this was going on? The bullies won, but GLAAD will never admit that kind of defeat. They'll spin it so that a tragic loss of life looks like a heroic accomplishment. This is sad on so many levels. I hate it when groups exploit any tragedy to make themselves look better or more relevant.

Actually, I don't wear it every day. If I'm doing visitations or going to meetings or conferences I will wear the clerical. And of course Sunday's.

Zec, I agree.

If we are going to have anti-bullying laws and anti cyber bulling laws, it needs to be across the board, for every boy or girl who is bullied for whatever reasons. My kids were bullied in school and none of them are gay. Most bullies bully because they have poor self image and they pick on others so they can feel important. My kids finally stood up for themselves and once they did, the bullies stopped.

For those of you studying, I feel for you, but the Holiday breaks are right around the corner, so hang in there.

Yay! Christmas décor is now appearing in the local garden centers. Dept stores don't seem to carry the nice stuff here (as Dillard's or Nordstrom would) and I was very sad last year that I couldn't find any nice glass ornaments, village pieces or Nativities. This year, we stumbled across the secret of where to look for such things. Funny, huh?

Has anyone ever had an MRI on their head or upper body? Did being in the closed tunnel for that long freak you out?

I had one today and it really was a bit unnerving to start with. I couldn't have made it through if Jesus hadn't been there with me. Once I saw Him, I could have fallen asleep if the machine hadn't been so loud, but I'm in no hurry to do it again.

I had one when they were trying to find a cause for my high blood pressure when I was like 14. It was scary before I went in, but once I was in there it wasn't too bad. Although it was uncomfortable being in that little tube, not alot of space in there.

my husband had to have a number of MRIs done - but because he was quite large, they put him in an "open air" tunnel - which apparently is better than a normal MRI but still a major cause for claustrophobia - it freaked him out really bad having to get those done....

I've had both the open and the closed MRIs. I'm not claustrophobic by any stretch, but the open one was far better.

I also got to have music on, so the MRI wasn't as noisy.

Having a root canal was worse. That is kinda weird considering the eye doc said I either had a brain tumor or MS which would cause vertical diplopia (my eyes and eyesight were absolutely 100% healthy and he couldn't get the diplopia to happen again...it only happened once ever last year and lasted for only a couple minutes and hasn't happened again).

Anyway...just a bunch of sinus fluid (probably causing inflammation in that area). The MRI I didn't mind because I don't really hear what people are saying and that is what freaks me out. For some reason the clicking and banging was rather soothing.

I have had an MRI and was suppose to be scheduled for mild sedation since I tend to get claustrophobic. Scheduling messed up and in order to have the sedation, I would have had to reschedule and I was already at the med center for other appointments so went ahead with it. It was okay and I made it through okay. Tiny spot though.

LOL, I did fall asleep. Then again, I did have a wee bit of help. The doc gave me a sedative as I'm very clastrophobic. I don't ever want to go in the little tunnel again.

They inflicted the MRI on me because I'd lost 85% of my hearing. It turns out that I'd had Mineires(sp) for years and didn't know it. The stress of dealing with Mum's funeral and all was just a bit much. Now I know that if things start getting a bit woozey to just drink a lot of water. It cleans out the salts and everything returns to a normal ph.

Pastor Pechman sent me a wonderful paper done by a Ps. Schroeder for the last WELS convention. I'd like to post it here, but need to find out about the permissions thing first. It's a treatise on 'Our Calling'.

No, it was Jonathan E. Schroeder. I suppose that the 20% rule is okay, especially since it's a twenty-four page document not including the Bibliography. Though where this thing is located on line is beyond me.
