  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Things that would be neat--I wonder if they are possible?

This is just for batting around ideas about things that might be possible and seeing what others think of them or if they know of some way it could be done. Thoughts, not ideas ready to present as suggestion.

I wonder if there would be some way that CFPR could have a few unique colors that could be used for a potential adopter's pet at their request--only available on pets adopted through CFPR. I was thinking along the lines of a white background with black spots, a leopard colored background, and maybe even a zebra or tiger striped background--as an additional color that CFPR could chose from to apply to pets. For example, instead of choosing to apply a brown color to a pet under pet settings, it would be great if we could apply a white background with black spots which would cover all areas that the brown would normally be applied to.

It could give the "recycled" pets something that creating a new pet couldn't offer if the person who adopted from us could ask us to apply it before they received it. We could apply it to pets we were also trying to adopt out.

It might not be possible, but if it is, it would be great to have, and a useful tool for us when we try to encourage people to adopt existing pets rather than make new pets, many of which end up being lost or put up for adoption in a short period of time.

Anyone know anything about if this would be possible and how to go about doing it if it is?

We might see an influx, but I don't know how massive it would be. After all, if you put your pet in hoping for a makeover, there's no guarantee that you would get your own pet back.

But you raise a good possibility there. The same thing could happen if people placed pets who merely wanted changes made to them and we used our own blessings to customize them to fit a prospective adopter, saving them the expense of changing the brown female dog named "Fifi" they were tired of to a white tomcat named "Bob."

If we had a feature where the CFPRs who get a pet out of the adoption center could see who had that pet up for adoption, it would get around this problem in both instances. We could agree among ourselves refuse to adopt pets back to their original owners.
